1. December 4th is International Cheetah Day

International Cheetah Day is sponsored each year by the Cheetah Conservation Fund to bring awareness to the plight of the world’s cheetahs.

2. About 10,000 of the world’s fastest land animal remain in the wild

3. At full sprint, the cheetah can reach speeds in excess of 70 miles per hour

4. Yet, they are one of the most endangered big cats in Africa

5. There were once about 100,000 cheetahs spread from eastern India to southern Africa

6. Loss of habitat, poaching and inbreeding have threatened this animal’s survival

The population has dropped 90% over the past century

7. But you can help to save these awesome animals
