5 Ways Technology Can Make Reading More Fun

I love all my literature classes, but concentrating on reading when there's so much to do (especially online) is hard. These are the ways I like to use tech and social media to stay engaged.

1. Tweet it!

Did a character do something outrageous or courageous? Let us know with a pithy remark.

Or take a favorite passage and recompose it as a tweet (with the proper citations)!

2. Find the Audiobook

I'm a busy person. I often don't have time to do the reading and get enough sleep to function. Listening to books while I walk to school saves me a lot of time. It's easy to find free audiobooks of works in the public domain with apps like LibriVox and Audiobook.

Both of these apps are available on Android too!

3. Make a Collage

Now that you're listening on audiobook, why don't you do something fun and relaxing with your eyes and hands? Canva is great for doing collages like this:

4. Start a Pinterest Board

Use Pinterest to collect visual representations of the books you are reading. Apart from being fun, it also will help sharpen how you imagine the narrative universe.

5. Instagram

Showcase your intellectual side by taking Instagram photos of your favorite passages.
