Making someone feel like they have to send you a sext will just come off as creepy.

If you ask someone for nudes, they could immediately screenshot that conversation and share it with their best friends in a group chat. Now everyone knows you're desperate for them — especially if you asked for nudes more than once. There is thirsty, and then there is just damn desperate.

3. A sext is for life – not just for the immediate future.

Once you send out a sext, you lose control of what can happen to it now or in the future, and breaking the internet with your nudes even years later could be a very unwelcome surprise.

4. Sharing your pictures with someone online may be fun at the time, but you never know who could turn out to be a catfish.

And can you really trust Charlie from High Wycombe when you're not even really sure he is Charlie from High Wycombe?

5. You may trust your partner to keep your sexts to themselves now, but what if they are feeling ~salty~ later on down the line?

Even if you trust the person you’re DM'ing your nudes to at the moment, how confident are you that they'll be a trustworthy person in 10 or 20 years' time?

6. They could even post them on social media.

No one wants that notification.

7. If you screenshot and share nude pictures that someone sent you, you could find yourself in some actual legal trouble.

Sharing images without the person's consent is an invasion of privacy and could result in you being charged in regard to revenge porn laws. Not only that, but your actions could cause the person featured some serious emotional turmoil.

8. The bottom line is that taking, possessing, or sharing sexually explicit images or videos of someone under 18 years of age is breaking the law.

Even if the sender gave their permission, someone else sent it to you, you are also under 18, or even if the photos are of yourself, you are still breaking the law and could be investigated by the police.
