Your post got me teary-eyed. I too lost my grandmother last year and was there with her during her final moments. Like your grandmother, mine was fiesty, funny and amazing. We should be proud to come from such admirable women. :)
This is my grandmother in Havana, 1948. She was a pro volleyball player and later became a chef in New Orleans, specializing in Cuban and Spanish cuisine. She was ahead of her time in so many ways. She passed away in July of 2015 and I miss her dearly.
