You probably know Nick Cannon from his roles as a comedian, actor, and TV presenter, which includes hosting for shows like MTV's Wild 'N Out, The Masked Singer and America's Got Talent.

In September 2021, Nick further expanded his TV ventures when he began hosting his own daytime talk series, Nick Cannon.

The show is entertaining and uplifting, with guests ranging from celebs, to health experts, to everyday people doing work they love. 

Here are 23 reason you'll want to tune in to Nick's show.

1. It's a platform Nick created to use for good.

While he was a guest on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah in 2019, Nick discussed the announcement of his show and said the idea to start a daytime talk series came from witnessing other hosts using their platforms to spread positivity.

"I've been inspired by people like yourself, ... to Wendy Williams, to Ellen," Nick told Trevor. "Once I left America's Got Talent, I was like, yo, I want to elevate in a way to where I can actually use my voice for good and ... affect culture."

2. It's got nostalgic moments – like when Nick was reunited with famous All That cast members.

Both Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell acted with Nick on the Nickelodeon comedy series, All That, and they have each appeared as guests on the show.

"You and Kenan, man, just ... opened your doors to me and really saw me as family," Nick said to Kel in a sweet moment from their chat. "If I haven't said thank you enough, I'll say it again."

3. Nick keeps things focused on community.

The goal of Nick Cannon is to bring people together and showcase the stories of Nick's guests.

"I think that's what it's all about. I mean, really, I'm at a point in my career where I just want to give other people opportunities and expand my platforms so others can shine," Nick said to Leah A. Henry in a 2021 interview. "Even when it's new people I meet or human experiences and human interest stories that we've tapped into, it's really just given the opportunity to say, 'Look, I'm not in this alone. We're all a community.'"

4. The show brings on hilarious interviewees like comedian Kevin Hart, who was Nick's very first guest.

Nick pranked Kevin by wrapping his private jet with an image of himself before their remote interview for the show took place.

"Not only did you get my flight information so that you could go and obviously wrap my plane ... you've also somehow managed to manipulate me into being your first guest," Kevin joked during the interview.

Some other comedians who have been on the show are Ken Jeong, Jess Hilarious, and Larry the Cable Guy.

5. The show includes visits from some amazing musicians.

The Nick Cannon Classic Hits Week featured appearances from artists like Lisa Lisa, Rob Base, Brian McKnight and MC Lyte.

6. Nick chose to film the show in Harlem to celebrate the culture of the area.

"There's so many historic monuments [in Harlem] like the Apollo Theater and Cotton Club. And when you think about the Harlem Renaissance, [the] great orators and people from jazz, and poets from Langston Hughes to Malcolm X to Billie Holiday...it's just a place where, it's an oasis of culture that sometimes is forgotten," Nick told Fox 7 Austin in 2021. "I could easily have done this show in Hollywood or even midtown, downtown, but to actually come to where the people are, to really be a part of the community was really important to me." 

7. An Emmy Award-winning producer who worked on The Oprah Winfrey Show has contributed to Nick Cannon.

Katy Murphy Davis, who has worked on Red Table Talk and won an Emmy, alongside other producers of The Oprah Winfrey Show, executive produced a 2021 episode of Nick Cannon. 

8. It gives back to people pursuing their dreams, like when it payed off the debts of a group of HBCU students.

9. The series marks a culmination of Nick's television talents that span the course of 30 years.

"I've been doing television since I was about 11 years old," Nick said while discussing the series in his interview with Leah A. Henry. "Even back then, I had my own little local cable access show, and, so this is the holy grail. This is the space that, you know, for ... decades I've been trying to get to."

In September 2021, the show introduced a mother and her two daughters, who are all nurses. The three of them continued to provide vital medical services to their community throughout the dangers of the pandemic. After showing video clips of them sharing their stories, Nick surprised the women with massages, manicures and pedicures, and champagne. They also later visited the show, and they were gifted with a five-night luxury trip to the Caribbean. 

12. It's a space where men being emotionally vulnerable is encouraged.

A panel of five men, Nick, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Dr. Ish Major, Chris Distefano and Rip Micheals openly answered questions about taboo subjects in a January 2022 episode. When they were asked about their biggest fears, Rip spoke about how his comedy can be used as a shield to avoid being too open with others.

"I'm more scared of being vulnerable because, I mean, being a man, we're raised to be so tough," Rip said. "You know, I use comedy a lot to hide how I'm actually feeling and disguise it. So, yeah, I would say being vulnerable and allowing people to know who I really am. That's my biggest fear."

13. And the show's audience got to see Nick himself display his vulnerable side when he discussed body insecurities during this segment.

When the subject of the man panel discussion turned to intimacy, Nick revealed that he's battled low self-esteem over his thin frame and addressed how it's affected his sex life.

"I definitely have an insecurity when it comes to being intimate. I’ve been skinny my whole life, so therefore I've never liked to be completely naked," Nick said. "It's usually, like, I hide under the covers. As much as I boast about being in shape."

14. It gives a voice to talented young artists.

14-year-old Keedron Bryant, who posted a viral video of himself singing a protest song after the murder of George Floyd in 2020, visited the show in February 2022.

"After George Floyd died, it was just a lot of sad, tragic emotions going on in the world and I wanted to be a light and to shine in dark times," Keedron said of his video. "You know, I just wanted to inspire people, give people hope."

15. Nick shares important health information on the show, including his own journey as he reflected on the 10-year anniversary of his lupus diagnosis.

Nick showed some footage documenting his battle with lupus in a January 2022 episode. In 2012, he was experiencing kidney failure and learned of his condition while consulting with medical specialists.

"After a decade of close calls, blood transfusions, chemotherapy and hospitalizations, I continue to push through," Nick said. "Day by day I laid a foundation both mentally and physically to build back the life that I had almost lost to this disease. ... I see it as a way to help others through my experience."

16. Legendary entertainers like Dionne Warwick appear on the show.

Dionne visited Nick Cannon for its Valentine's Day episode to discuss her new song, "Power In The Name," and Nick ended the show by giving her some gifts, including a bouquet of red roses. Nick also posted a TikTok video of the two having fun while listening to Dionne's hit, "That's What Friends Are For," while sitting at a piano together.

Other iconic celebrities like Susan Lucci, Marie Osmond, and Suzanne Somers have also stopped by to chat with Nick.

17. It's funny!

The show has some great comedy bits, like when Nick pulled a good-natured prank in October 2021. He dressed up as an eccentric elderly character named Benedict Boots, then played chauffeur for an unsuspecting passenger to see if she could go ten minutes without saying the word "crazy" while he was in character. This resulted in some hilarious moments during their ride together.

18. It turns negativity from haters into positivity.

In one Nick Cannon segment, called Hater Hotline, Nick and his audience members listen to audio messages from viewers who voice their constructive criticism about the show. Instead of getting upset, Nick jokes around about the messages and kindly takes the callers' points into consideration for future reference.

In February 2022, financial advisor Kristin O'Keeffe Merrick visited the show and gave helpful advice to guests who were navigating paying off debt. One tip she recommended was creating an investment account with annual growth through compound interest in order to establish future financial freedom. 

20. The show remembers the impactful words of historic leaders.

One of the show's recurring segments, World Famous 5, explores a ranking of top five contenders for a variety of subjects, such as romantic movies, baby name suggestions, and girl groups, with Nick taking input from his audience members for this.

On January 17, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Nick listed his top five MLK quotes. He finished this off by reading one of his all-time favorite lines from the legendary civil rights leader.

"Not everyone can be famous, but everyone can be great, because greatness is determined by service," Nick said as he quoted Martin Luther King Jr.

21. It has a catchy theme song!

The Nick Cannon theme song, called "Hey Nick!" is a fun intro that's sung by Nick. There's a very high likelihood it will get stuck in your head if you give it a listen.

22. Guests give important advice to audience members during the Motivational Minute segment.

For timed 60-second intervals, audience members can ask guests a question about a subject they need guidance on, which leads to some insightful moments. When a viewer asked guest Steve Harvey if she was right to feel guilty about putting her needs first more often, he spoke wise words on the importance of self-care.

"Guilt is the most useless emotion ever created. Guilt serves no purpose except the one that's trying to use it to manipulate you," he said. "Stop feeling guilty. ... You have to put yourself first. Look, the best way to take care of people is to demonstrate that you have the ability to take care of yourself."
