Walter Gropius would have hated these buildings. They’re a bastardization of his ideas. He was for limiting ornament, not eliminating it. His end goal was still beautiful AND functional buildings. Look at the Bauhaus complex itself. There’s plenty of ornament by Brutalist standards, and the inside of the place has things like beautifully curving staircases and art deco-ish tile. Comparing these Soviet-like monstrosities to what Gropius taught is an insult to Gropius.
