Wonder Woman: The Hero We Should All Aspire to Be

In some of the strangest times our country has seen in quite a while, we all needed a hero. Someone to look up to. Someone to admire. An idol for our children, and that's exactly what we got when Wonder Woman smashed into theaters this summer.

The film staring Gal Gadot as the title character and Chris Pine as soldier and spy Steve Trevor, took the super hero genre into a whole other sector with its sincere, heartwarming, and even realistic approach to story telling.

Now I know, realistic and super hero film should rarely be in the same sentence, but bare with me here.

The things that separate Wonder Woman from any of the Marvel and DC movies we see nowadays, are the little things. The little moments that director Patty Jenkins masterfully put to the forefront of the film.

Now warning here, we are going to get into some spoiler territory, you have been warned!

Now that that's out of the way, let's get into the meat of the movie!

Diana Prince, Wonder Woman, Princess of Themyscira, is the perfect leader of our journey through this time, because she is very representative of what people aspire to be today.

Passionate, loving, courageous, a true soldier who fights for the things she believes in, even when everyone else thinks she is insane.

The fact that she is a woman didn't stick out or distract from the true message, because as time went on, we were told to look at her as a human, a person just like you or me, which is exactly how the world should be today.

The seemingly contrast traits of her personality just truly showed how alike our Wonder Woman truly is to all of us.

As incredible and superhuman she may be, she had many of the qualities that you or I have.

The since of wonder (no pun intended) and awe that is displayed when the characters first arrive at the city, looking at the city, the children, and this new world she has discovered, and already having that unmatched need to protect and cherish this land is something we could all have.

The ability to find the beauty in simply dancing and snowfall, something most of us take for granted, but somehow seems incredible again when looking through the eyes of someone who truly respects it.

Mirror all of this with one of the strongest, and most remarkable fighters the world has ever seen, and you get The No Man Lands scene, which I believe will go down as one of the best war scenes in cinematic history.

Was it perfect, no, but it's what we were able to see, feel, and witness, that made all the difference.

The hope she instills in the troops, in us as viewers, and the world as a whole is something truly remarkable.

The fact that one person, against all odds decided to stand up to somethings, not because she had to, but by choice, is something that I believe we all should aspire to do.

Will the movie win Oscars or go down as one of the best films ever made, probably not, but right here and right now, in the world we live in, I truly believe that it helped give us something, and someone to admire, respect, and truly hope to be like.

This film had one of my personal favorite quotes, when everyone is telling her not to go down No Mans Land, she doesn't reply with "I am no man" or "I can do anything", only replies subtly with, "But it's the right thing to do", and if we all live the way of Wonder Woman, put aside some of our beliefs and personal ideology, and begin to think about what the right thing to do for our daughters and sons, i believe the world would be a much better place.
