Freshman year at any university is a huge learning experience. You will have ups and downs, but for most people, it will be the best year of your life thus far. The saying holds true at any university, your freshman year experience literally is what you make it. Here are a couple tips to help you thrive and survive:

Moderation is Key!

Go out, party, have fun, and meet people! That’s the best part about college. You will make amazing friends, and end up making great networking connections. The catch-22 is that you have to remember the main reason you are here… your education!

Beware of Upperclassmen!

I don’t care how smart you think you are, they are smarter in the art of finesse! Upperclassmen guys tend to prey on freshmen girls because they tend to be easier and upperclassmen girls tend to use freshmen guys, emphasis on the “use”. Allow upperclassmen to give you advice and learn from them, nothing more.

Time Management!

This isn’t high school; you will have A LOT of time on your hands that you think is “extra time”. Between jobs, internships, sports (if you’re a student-athlete), class, and having fun, time will fly by. College moves extremely fast with everyone tugging you in different directions and the last thing you want is to get lost in the mix.
