    6 Home Remedies To Cure A Cold

    Flu season is upon us

    1. Soothing Lemon Ginger Tea


    for 2 servings

    4 cups water

    1 lemon

    1 piece ginger, 2-3 inch (5-7 cm)

    2 teaspoons honey, or preferred sweetener


    1. Bring water to a boil and remove from heat.

    2. Cut lemon and ginger into thin slices. Add to the hot water.

    3. Steep for 5-10 minutes.

    4. Strain and pour tea into mug.

    5. Add honey, stir, and serve.

    6. Enjoy!

    2. Salt Water


    8 oz. water

    1/2 tsp. salt


    1. Mix salt into water

    2. Stir

    3. Gargle four times a day throughout the day

    3. Congestion Relief Balm


    2 tablespoons beeswax, grated or pellets

    ½ cup coconut oil, solid

    20 drops eucalyptus essential oil

    10 drops peppermint essential oil

    10 drops tea tree essential oil


    1. Fill a heavy-bottomed cooking pot with several cups of water, then place a bowl that fits on top of the pot.

    2. Bring the water to a rapid boil, then reduce to a simmer.

    3. Add the beeswax and coconut oil.

    4. Stir to combine as they begin to melt.

    5. When the mixture is fully melted, carefully remove the bowl from the pot.

    6. Before the mixture solidifies, add in the eucalyptus, peppermint, and tea tree essential oils.

    7. Stir to evenly distribute the oils, and evenly pour the liquid into glass jars.

    8. Allow the balm to cool fully (approximately 1 hour).

    9. When hardened, secure lid and store in the refrigerator or a cool, dry place for up to a year.

    10. Apply a pea-sized amount on the chest area, and rub in slow, circular motions.

    4. Pressure Points To Help Congestion


    1. Press each side of the base of the nose for three minutes

    2. Press the top of the inner eyebrows for three minutes

    3. Press in the eye socket above the eye for as long as desired

    4. Press the outer part of the socket below the eyebrow

    5. Press the bottom outer edge of the eye

    6. Press the inside corners under the eye

    7. Press the center of the collarbone

    8. Press below the collarbone next to the breastbone

    5. Nose Spray


    1 tsp. baking soda

    3 tsp. salt (iodine-free)

    8 oz. lukewarm water (cooled from boiling)

    Bulb syringe


    1. Boil water and let cool

    2. Place baking soda and salt in the airtight container. Shake container to mix ingredients.

    3. Put 1tsp of baking soda and salt mixture in lukewarm water. Stir.

    4. Place syringe in mixture

    5. Flush nose and repeat other side

    6. DIY Cold Relief Bath Soak


    1/2 cup baking soda

    1/2 cup epsom salt

    Tea Tree Oil

    Peppermint Oil

    Eucalyptus Oil

    Soap dye (optional)


    1. Mix baking soda, epsom salt, and a few drops of tea tree oil, peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, and soap dye. Mix together.

    2. Place in jar and enjoy!
