Born in Panama City, Panama, raised in London, England and Rio de Janiero, Jordana Brewster became fluent in both the English and Portuguese languages. Relocating to New York at the age of 10, she studied at a Catholic School for Girls and at the Professional Children's School of NY. While studying at the latter, Brewster snagged a one-day replacement spot on the soap All My Children . She soon earned a role on As The World Turns as Nikki Munson-Graves. During her stint as Nikki, TV Guide voted Brewster as "One of the most beautiful women on television." It didn't take long for Brewster to get noticed by accomplished director Robert Rodriguez. He cast Brewster in his feature film The Faculty as Delilah Proffitt, the head cheerleader and editor-in-chief of the school newspaper. Brewster appeared on an MTV special about The Faculty called "Invasion of the Fright Films" and Tommy Hilfiger used the cast of The Faculty to advertise clothing. Soon after The Faculty was released in theaters, Brewster signed on to play a major role in the tv miniseries The 60s .
