25 Ways To Get Into The Christmas Spirit

Sometimes it can be difficult to get into the holiday spirit like if there was a recent tragedy or money problems or even a lack of snow. However, once the holiday spirit starts, it stays and should be shared! Here are 25 ways to get into the Christmas spirit and spur others into the season as well.

    1. Bake Christmas Cookies

Stop by the grocery store and pick up the sugar cookies with Christmas trees and reindeer on them to kick start your Christmas spirit! Pop them in the oven...minus a ball of cookie dough or two...and you have festive goodies for the holidays! You could also make cookies from scratch like candy cane cookies, thumb print cookies or Grinch cookies.

    2. Decorate

It's a lot easier to be in the Christmas spirit if it looks like Christmas! Hit the dollar store, Walmart or Michael's Craft store and pick out your new home decor.

    3. Put up the Christmas Tree

While it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, since you're decorating, don't forget to put up the Christmas tree! Garland, ornaments and candy canes are calling your name from the shelves!

    4. Listen to Christmas Music

Go with the classics and download the Christmas albums of Bing Crosby, Michael Buble, Judy Garland, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear! So, make sure to download Mariah Carey's Holiday album to sing along to as well!

    5. Go Caroling

Sing like nobody's listening...with friends...out in public! This seems to be a dying art form of Christmas spirit but you can revive it this year! Pick your favorite Christmas songs, gather some friends and find a place with good acoustics. Maybe someone will bring you some figgy pudding in exchange for Christmas spirit.

    6. Go Shopping

Make a list of gifts to get your family and friends and then hit the stores! Studies (by someone, somewhere) show that making others happy make you happier, which is what Holiday Spirit is all about.

    7. Wrap Presents

Put on some festive music or your favorite holiday movie while you creatively wrap all the presents you bought for your loved ones! Check Pinterest or Google for wrapping ideas and you can put a little more fun into your festivities.

    8. Acts of Kindness

Christmas is the time of giving, so we're more motivated to complete acts of kindness. You could bring cookies to your local fire and police departments, hand out blankets and coats to the homeless, leave gifts for your neighbors, or pay-it-forward at the coffee shop. Buy gifts for a family who doesn't have a lot of money or donate to a shelter. Choose an act of kindness for the holidays and then continue them even after the season is over to continue on the Christmas spirit!

    9. Watch Christmas Movies

Have yourself a Christmas movie marathon with family, friends or just the dog! Find your favorites on Netflix, Amazon, Disney+ or DVD, like The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, The Santa Clause series, Elf, A Christmas Carole, Home Alone, Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, Jingle All The Way, Frosty The Snowman, and many more!
