Brisbane-based reporter Alex Bernhardt, who has had her share of bad on-air experiences in the past, was filming a TV news package for Channel Nine on Tuesday when she was filmed receiving a nasty bite from a bull ant.
To non-Australians, an ant bite may sound relatively benign BUT JUST CHECK THIS THING OUT.
The Australian Museum says there are 90 species of bull ant in the country but they all share a "potent venom loaded sting" and the ability to FUCK YOUR SHIT UP.
"Some of the smaller species are known as jumper ants after their habit of aggressively jumping toward intruders," according to the museum. OH GOOD. SOUNDS DELIGHTFUL.
Poor Bernhardt. As she stops mid-sentence, you can actually see the moment when she feels the bite.
Naturally, she reacts with all the composure and grace of someone who was just bitten by a fucking bull ant.
