    When the words “Ascot” falls from someone’s lips, people think about horse racing, royalty and luxury; but what is it really like to live in the town?

    1. The Local Area

    The first thing that you notice living in Ascot is the beautiful, surrounding areas that you can visit. The royal town is right on the edge of the famous Windsor Great Park, which looks over the magnificent Windsor Castle.

    Virginia Water is also a popular area to visit as there is a large lake and ancient Roman ruins to explore.

    Chobham Common, which covers over 1,000 acres of natural woodland, is also within reach and makes for the perfect afternoon walk!

    Ascot is also a very convenient place to live if you need to travel internationally, as Heathrow Airport is only a short 30 minutes away by car.

    The town is also perfectly placed for the M4, M3 and M25 with easy access to London or elsewhere. Additionally, Ascot train station takes about an hour to arrive at London Waterloo.

    If you are into horse racing, Ascot is the place to live. The racecourse is one of the leading sports venues in the world, hosting some of the most famous races in Britain. The most famous event at the building is called Royal Ascot, where there are five days of competitive horse racing. It’s the biggest attraction in the area with over 300,000 people coming to Royal Ascot every year.
