    G'day!

My name is Dan. I'm a 33 year old individual with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Struggling most of my life with school, then work, I remained undiagnosed till I was 30. Like many others on the spectrum, it's left me with an embarrassing track record of previous employers. As an adult with autism, regular employment was a challenge when it didn't apply to my obsessive interests.

Finally giving up, not understanding my situation, I turned away from the world frustrated and after much talk with my better half, turned to the role of homemaker instead.

Getting diagnosed a few years ago with ASD has shone a light into what was once a dark existence, making so many things clear for the first time. Understanding myself better has allowed me to be more open with others, where I used to close myself away. It's allowed me to gain focus where there was once none. Now knowing my strengths and limitations allows me to better guide myself down the appropriate roads.

Giving up on my art in high school and putting down my sketching pencils, I choose to travel the traditional working mans road. Never knowing that such a traditional road was not for me to travel, I did so and never looked back.

After many years of not actively putting pencil to paper (close to 15 in fact), and now knowing what I know about myself. I've decided it's time to rekindle my long lost love. There have been few constants in my life, and although I gave up sketching and drawing, my creativity has continued to express itself in some fashion or another. Showing me my true talents lie in my creativity and bringing my visions to life. Believing I have much still to share with this world.

Which brings me to why I'm here, I'm trying to raise funds for a Wacom Cintiq Companion tablet to help me make the transition from a more traditional media to a newer one, as well as to assist in furthering my education and training into digital media. Helping me realize the goal of one day obtaining meaningful, regular employment, doing what I love to do within digital media industry.

I ask you all, please, if you can see it in you to help me reach my goal. I would be forever grateful.

All donations above and beyond my target will go towards software costs for the many different programs a digital artist keeps in their repertoire.

I've included a couple of pictures. One is of my most recent sketch I finished, the other is one of my most recent character sculptures I started. I share these in hopes of showing others my talent and what I can do.
