Want To Major In Art History? Not In China!
In an effort to reduce joblessness among college graduates, China's Ministry of Education will start phasing out majors where the employment rate for graduates falls below 60% for two consecutive years. Although the jobless rates for college graduates is decreasing (unemployment stood at 28% in 2010, down from 32% in 2009), the Ministry still plans to divert its focus to majors that support China's export-led, manufacturing-based economy.
