At the moment, it kind of feels like we're living in some alternate reality that you'd only see in a movie or show.
A lot of people are saying that the coronavirus crisis is reminding them of the 2011 movie Contagion, which is about the efforts to contain and halt a terrifying pandemic.
It made me think about other things I've seen that have seemingly predicted the future. For example, in a 1961 episode of The Twilight Zone called "The Midnight Sun," everyone was overheating because the Earth was moving closer and closer to the sun. This episode came out long before the phrase "global warming" was used to address the planet's rising temperatures.
There was also the 1993 episode of The Simpsons where two entertainers put on an act with a white tiger and one of them got attacked by it. Ten years later, the infamous entertainer Roy Horn (of Siegfried and Roy) was mauled by a white tiger during a performance they were doing.
