There's A Girl On TikTok Who's Going Viral Even Faster Than Charli D'Amelio

You never know who's gonna be the next TikTok star.

A little over a week ago I wrote about the rise of Charli D'Amelio, a 15-year-old TikTok sensation who gained over 5 million followers in less than three months.

If you think you're up on the TikTok gossip and know all about Charli, but don't recognize the name "Alex French", I've got some bad news for you. You're already behind.

    The CW

Alex French is the new TikTok sweetheart, and her popularity is growing even faster than Charli's. This TikTok of her saying "hi" a bunch of times is her most popular video and helped her go viral.

In about one day French went from 300,000 followers to 1 million.

Let's say she kept that momentum of 700,000 followers per day. If we fast-forwarded three months (the amount of time it took for Charli to get 5 million followers), she would have 63 MILLION FOLLOWERS.

Yeah Charli, you heard that right.

From her TikToks and IG, it seems like Alex is based in Texas.

By all appearances, she's just a normal high school teenager.

A lot of people on TikTok are saying that Alex French is the new Charli D'Amelio.

And they're crushing really really hard.

As always, there are haters. Some people wish Charli was still the only reigning queen of TikTok.

I personally think there's enough room for both of them! Plus, they've got different brands. Charli is more of a dancer and Alex likes to goof around.

It definitely doesn't look like Alex is trying to encroach on Charli's territory.

There's really no telling how or why Alex blew up so fast. Just like the Charli situation, her videos are pretty lowkey and aren't based on showy stunts or comedy skits.

These overnight fame surges seem to be pretty random, but that's what makes this so fun! Who knows who we'll be writing about next week ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. It could be you.

BuzzFeed has reached out to French for comment.
