Do You Love The Same Halloween Candy As Everyone Else In Your State?

Spoiler: A LOT OF PEOPLE LIKE CANDY CORN, APPARENTLY.

Halloween is upon us, and with it, the shit ton of delicious candy people give away for free to strangers who knock on their door.

If you're planning on buying candy for trick-or-treaters this year, make sure you buy the right stuff.

The folks at CandyStore.com, created this helpful map of the most popular candy in every state, so you can make wise Halloween candy decisions.

Just roll over each state and a square with information will pop up.

To make an accurate map, they used nine years (2007-2016) of sales data (particularly during the months leading up to Halloween), and broke it down by state sales.

Let's go over a few of these answers, shall we? Starting in the south, Texans seem to love Starburst, Reese's Cups, and Almond Joys.

In Florida they enjoy Skittles, Snickers, and Reese's Cups. Makes sense licorice isn't on the list since they HATE that shit.

Even though I was expecting to see all-natural, kombucha-infused, vegan candy in California, their most popular Halloween candy is actually M&M’s, followed by salt water taffy, and Skittles.

New Yokers are very on brand with their favorite candy. They love Sour Patch Kids — and have purchased more than 200,000 pounds of it to be exact. Candy corn (????) comes in second, and Reese's Cups third.

Alabama, Idaho, New Mexico, Michigan, and South Carolina, also all inexplicably LOVE candy corn.
