“Pirates Of The Caribbean’s” Young Elizabeth Is All Grown Up And Still A Gorgeous Star

    Yo ho, yo ho-OH wow!

Remember the beginning of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl when we first met Elizabeth Swann? Well, YOUNG Elizabeth Swann to be precise.

    Disney

She was just chilling out at the bow, singing "Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)" – aka the theme to the Pirates ride.

And young Elizabeth was all, "Man, seeing pirates would be COOL!" But the jerks on her ship were all like, "UGH, NO. PIRATES ARE THE WORST!"

    ::Rolls eyes.::

But then Elizabeth spotted a Young Will Turner floating along on some wreckage from his own ship...

    Disney

    Love at first...float?

...and while the crew scrambled, she also caught a glimpse of *GASP* an actual pirate ship!

    Disney

    COOOOOL.

Of course, that was 14 years ago, and now IRL Young Elizabeth, actor Lucy Dryzek (who was just 11 years old when they filmed Pirates), is all grown up! But, no surprise, she's still as lovely now as she was then.

    Here's a side-by-side for funsies.

And Lucy told BuzzFeed that she has nothing but very happy memories of making The Curse of the Black Pearl.

"The other cast members were so lovely. My family were never really big into films so I didn't know who anyone was. Luckily, the costume designer took me around to meet everyone and made sure I got signed photos because she assured me I would regret it when I was older if I didn't. I'm really grateful for that."

And it turns out the sheer scope of the production was so big that cast members had to be piloted all over in boats.

Dryzek explained, "We used to have to drive from the main big boat we were filming on to the toilets which were floating on a platform nearby. They used to let me pilot the boat (under strict supervision!!!) – although, really, it was probably more like letting me THINK I was steering the boat!"

Not to mention, her time with the ~other~ Elizabeth (Keira Knightley) was just as amazing.

    Disney

"I remember sitting with Keira to have dinner in the catering tent, we were both there in our curlers with our mums. She was very sweet and we had some photos taken together, she was really excited to meet the mini version of herself."

These days, Luzy continues to work in the industry and has acted in many BBC shows including Five Days and Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell.

    BBC

"[Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell] was an amazing experience because I loved the book. And being on set in these amazing dresses while watching the book come to life in front of me was super cool."

Currently, Lucy is on the popular U.K. show Holby City playing a Junior Doctor named Jasmine.

"I've done drama, but also lots of comedy which was something I didn't realize how much I would enjoy until I was doing it. Making people laugh is such a good feeling."

And we can't wait to see what other exciting work is in store for Lucy! No doubt, a Young Elizabeth would be proud.
