It's Been 50 Years Since "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory" Premiered, Here's What The Kids Look Like Now

The suspense is terrible...I hope it'll last.

Hello, all. In case you didn't know, today is the 50th — yes, FIFTIETH — anniversary of the iconic film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

Now, half a century later, the surviving actors* who played the children Charlie Bucket, Veruca Salt, Mike Teavee, and Augustus Gloop virtually reunited for the film's anniversary. And apparently they've stayed in touch all these years later.

So, here's a look at what the ~kids~ from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory look like now:

Charlie Bucket, played by Peter Ostrum:

Charlie wearing a turtleneck, with sweeping blonde hair, and Peter now, with short gray hair and the same smile

Veruca Salt, played by Julie Dawn Cole:

Veruca Salt with long wavy hair, and Julie Dawn Coel now with shorter hair but the same funny look on her face

Mike Teavee, played by Paris Themmen:

Mike Teavee wearing funny goggles and talking, and Paris Themmen smiling and tilting his head in the same way

And Augustus Gloop, played by Michael Bollner:

Augustus Gloop talking to the press, and Michael Bollner now, with the same blue eyes and rosey cheeks

    And there you have it.
