We Taste Tested Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios Vs. Reese's Puffs In The Name Of ~Science~

    In case you hadn't heard, we now live in a world where Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios exist.

    Yes. In the most genius move to have happened to food in the last decade, two of the greatest foods in the world (chocolate and peanut butter) have been paired with your childhood fav, Cheerios.

    And, if you're cereal stans like us, then your first thought was probably, "Wait, isn't that like Reese's Puffs cereal?"

    *Whispers* Nope! But you'll find out why in a minute.

    So, we decided to pit the new vs. the ~old~.

    First up was Farrah, who was PLEASANTLY surprised by how delicious the Cheerios were.

    Cheerios: I’m not a big fan of Honey Nut Cheerios, so I was thinking that these would taste just OK. But, wow, I was wrong. They’re not too sweet, but you can distinctly taste both the peanut butter and chocolate.

    Reese's Puffs: The Reese's cereal tasted like straight-up sugar, which I guess is what people want when they pick up cereal that’s literally based on a candy.

    Pablo thought that both cereals deserve critical acclaim.

    Cheerios: Being that Reese's cereal holds a nostalgic place in my heart, I initially side-eyed these Cheerios...but not for long. These taste so fucking good. They somehow managed to keep the OG Cheerio flavor but still got in a good amount of both chocolate and peanut butter.

    Reese's Puffs: OK, so I'm just gonna go ahead and say I don't think this is a fair comparison. Reese's to me are much sweeter, but it's literally named after a candy so what do you expect? I'll still love these (in moderation) no matter what.

    And finally, Crystal wasn't expecting there to be a huge difference between the two.

    Cheerios: First of all, I love any and all Cheerios. They are the OG breakfast of champions or, in my case, lazy women over 30. So, it's probably not a big surprise that I LOVED these. They have just a hint of chocolate and peanut butter flavor, but not so much where it tasted like a sugar-y cereal.

    Reese's Puffs: I admit, I've only had these like once before in my life, maybe 20 years ago. From what I remember, this cereal tasted like it was "bad" for you, which made me want it, obviously. TBH, they still taste sinfully good, and while I liked it today, I didn't LOVE it as much as the Cheerios.

    Overall, we feel like both cereals are delicious, but definitely not the same thing.

    Farrah: Try these only if you like your mouth to be filled with good things.

    Pablo: Reese's will always be my #1, but I'm also on my second bowl of Cheerios so make what you will of that.
