Here Are All The New "Star Wars" Live-Action Series Coming To Disney+

    The Force is with us.

    by ,

During their annual Disney Investor Day 2020, Disney+ announced they have a TON of content coming to the streaming service over the next few years, including 10 (YES 10!!!) new Star Wars series:

Over the next few years, roughly 10 @Marvel series, 10 @StarWars series, 15 Disney live action, @DisneyAnimation, and @Pixar series, plus 15 all-new Disney live action, Disney Animation, and Pixar features will be released directly on @DisneyPlus.

Speaking at the event, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy introduced TWO new original series concurrently in development from The Mandalorian helmers Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau that will tie in to The Mandalorian:

    Rangers of the New Republic

Rangers of the New Republic, a new Original Series set within the timeline of #TheMandalorian is coming to #DisneyPlus.

    Ahsoka

Ahsoka, a new Original Series, starring @RosarioDawson and set within the timeline of #TheMandalorian is coming to #DisneyPlus.

Of course, fans of The Mandalorian probably suspected we might be getting an Ahsoka spinoff, as the character was recently introduced on the show.

    Disney+/ LucasFilm

It will be so much fun to see how the shows will all tie together and see crossover episodes.

Also in 2022 will be Andor, starring Diego Luna as his character from Rogue One, Cassian Andor, which will be helmed by filmmaker Tony Gilroy.

“Everything I did, I did for the Rebellion.” Andor, an Original Series set in the Star Wars universe, is streaming in 2022 on #DisneyPlus.

Gilroy also cowrote the script for Rogue One and is the writer-producer of the Bourne films, so the show is in great hands. The first season will be 12 episodes long.

And the highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi, which OMG (!!!!!!) will see the return of Hayden Christensen in his role as Darth Vader from the prequel films.

Hayden Christensen returns as Darth Vader, joining Ewan McGregor in OBI-WAN KENOBI. The Original Series begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Revenge of the Sith, and is coming to #DisneyPlus.

And, of course, Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan. As of right now, it appears that it will be a limited series.

    Lucasfilm

Lando, which will see the return of iconic scoundrel Lando Calrissian and is being developed by Dear White People filmmaker Justin Simien.

The galaxy’s favorite scoundrel, Lando Calrissian, will return in Lando, a brand-new event series for @DisneyPlus. Justin Simien (@JSim07) is in the early stages of developing the project.

And finally, The Acolyte will be a show that takes place during the final days of the High Republic era.

Leslye Headland brings a new @StarWars series to @DisneyPlus with The Acolyte. “The Acolyte” is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.

This sounds like another great series, and it will be written and executive produced by Leslye Headland, who is best known for co-creating the Netflix series Russian Doll.

Now the big question: Which show are you most excited for?!
