I Ate The Grey Stuff From “Beauty And The Beast” And It Was Basically Magic On A Plate

Let's just all agree that one of the most iconic scenes in Beauty and the Beast (and maybe all of Disney movie-dom?) is the "Be Our Guest" musical number, oui?

Because I'm willing to bet the Beast's last rose petal that you've still got all the lyrics stuck in your head TO THIS DAY.

But the part that stood out to me most as a kid (and as an adult) was the ~mysterious~ GREY STUFF.

Like, what ACTUALLY is that? But also, I would totally eat that.

So when I found out you could actually TRY THE GREY STUFF at Disneyland, my reaction went a little something like this:

And my first thought? "OMG, it's so pretty!"

So, here's what I found out the IRL Grey Stuff is actually made of:

– White chocolate mousse with chocolate cookie crumbles blended into it (OMG, my mouth is watering just typing this right now)

– Edible chocolate pearls

– Red velvet cake

– Raspberry jam

– An actual raspberry

– And all served on a yummy shortbread cookie

So, what's the verdict? The dishes (and Lumière) were RIGHT! The Grey Stuff really IS delicious.

Disneyland currently offers the Grey Stuff at the Red Rose Taverne (normally, Village Haus Restaurant) in Fantasyland.

And the Magic Kingdom in Florida has their own version, too. But, take note, that one uses a chocolate cake instead of Disneyland's red velvet.
