21 Very Honest Questions I Have After Watching "Game Of Thrones" Season 8, Episode 3

Why did the White Walkers just hang back and do nothing this entire episode?

    1. Whose wine did Tyrion take?

    HBO

It's next to a cart full of stuff, so it's PROBABLY someone else's. Kinda rude, TBH.

    2. Why isn't Sansa wearing armor?

    HBO

I know she ends up going down in the crypts. But she wanted to stay on the battlement as long as possible. Seems risky to stand out there in the open with NO armor?! Like, what if an arrow or spear comes flying at you?!

    3. Why don't Jaime, Brienne, Pod, and all our heroes have helmets?

    HBO

Other than Grey Worm, none of them had any protection for their heads! I understand we wanna see our lead actors' faces, but come on now.

    4. How did Melisandre sneak past the army of the dead — she came from the same direction they were in?!

    HBO

She arrives at Winterfell only moments before they do. So, it seems weird she's in front of them, but trotting along very leisurely?

    5. Also, how did she know WHEN to show up?

    HBO

Did the Lord of Light tell her, "Hey...the battle of Winterfell starts in like an hour, so you better get on over there, like, NOW!"

    6. And how come only the Dothraki got to have their weapons set on fire?

    HBO

No love for the Unsullied or anyone else?

    7. Why the HECK did they send Ghost out with the first wave of fighters?!?!?

    HBO

    HOW DARE THEY.

    8. How many of their own soldiers did Dany and Jon kill here?

    HBO

There's no way they're hitting JUST wights here, right?

    9. Who's in charge of locking the crypt?

    HBO

Sansa was the last one in, it locked behind her, so SOMEONE has the ability to lock it from the outside. Guess that person died by the time those poor souls got there and were screaming, "OPEN THE DOOR!"

    10. How far away can the Night King be when he controls his wights?

    HBO

He was WAY up on Viserion when he made them walk through the fire. Does he just need to have a clear view of the wights to command them?

    11. Why doesn't Lyanna Mormont have a proper weapon?

    HBO

I mean, I guess it wouldn't have made a difference anyway, but couldn't they have given her a dragonglass spear or axe (she had to pick one up) to start?

    12. Shouldn't Dany and Jon have frozen to death up above the clouds?

    HBO

Assuming they're about as high as commercial planes go, that would be like -60 degrees?!

    13. What was Melisandre doing just chilling in this room full of dead people and wights?

    HBO

Were they dead before she went in there? Did the humans die trying to protect her? She seems very calm when Arya, the Hound, and Beric arrive.

    14. How or why is the Night King immune to fire?

    HBO

    What's the story here, hmm??

    15. Why did the White Walkers just hang back and do nothing this entire episode?

    HBO

For most of the battle they just sat on their horses at the back. And then they entered the godswood and, as we all know, didn't do shit!

    16. How did the corpses punch through those stone crypts so easily?

    HBO

I'm no geologist, but I would think brittle old bone couldn't punch through thick AF stone? IDK.

    17. Why didn't Dany and Drogon just airlift Jon into the godswood to get to Bran faster?

    HBO

Would've saved everyone a lot of trouble.

    18. Did anyone else think Sansa and Tyrion were gonna kill themselves here?!

    HBO

    Just me? OK.

    19. Why does this one White Walker have a top knot?

    HBO

I'm not clear on the rules of how White Walkers are created (were they all created by the Children of the Forest, are they all Craster's sons, or something else?), but I love the idea of a White Walker stylin' their own hair.

    20. Seriously, how useless are the White Walkers?

    HBO

No, it's cool, just ignore that suspicious breeze that ran right past you. It's not like you have a spear you can throw or anything.

    21. Melisandre took her necklace off in the past and didn't die — but when she took it off this time she died. How does that work?

    HBO

Is it that the power from her necklace was drained from the battle? Like, why did she age REALLY FAST into a skeleton/skeleton-like corpse as opposed to when she was just an old 400-year-old lady in the past?
