19 Things About David Harbour, AKA Chief Hopper, That Will Make You Love Him Even More
Not that you needed more reasons to love him.
1. Harbour had a crush on Winona Ryder when he was in high school.

Oh please, Duffer Brothers, make this happen on the show!!
2. He saw Raiders of the Lost Ark 13 times in the theater when he was a kid.

He said his grandmother took him there because of the air conditioning.
3. And, you probably don't remember, but Harbour had a small role in Brokeback Mountain as Randall Malone, a fellow cowboy who hits on Jack (Jake Gyllenhaal)...

His wife was played by Anna Faris, too!
4. ...and one of the ~acting~ notes director Ang Lee gave Harbour on set was, "More...handsome."

Done and done.
5. He's scared of the ocean.

He explained to Women's Health, "I think it's beautiful and magical, but I never go in. That deep, dark water, with no understanding of what goes on behind it — I think that's a metaphor for a lot of things."
6. A fan asked how many retweets it would take for him to take her senior photo with her, and he said 25k. She hit that goal.

And it sounds like he's going to do it?!
7. One of his favorite TV shows as a kid was Knight Rider.

Talking car? Heck yeah.
8. Harbour knew he wanted to be an actor when he was about 5 years old.

Rockin' the Will haircut, lol.
9. In fact, he once played the Tin Man in his kindergarten school play...while wearing a Batman shirt.

10. He didn't think he would actually get the part of Hopper.

He felt he didn't have the career to back it up.
13. In fact, Harbour himself worked with a man at Worth & Worth (a custom hat maker in NY), and they designed a hat called the Open Road for Hopper.
You can actually get one yourself (now called the Hopper, for $675.00, oof) here.
14. There were times while filming Season 1 of Stranger Things where Harbour came off a little too "mean."

Harbour said the Duffers would say, "Can you be a little nicer? They're children."
15. The reason Harbour was on crutches for part of 2016 was because he tore his Achilles tendon while, ironically, playing Achilles in Shakespeare in the Park.
He claims it wasn't painful, but he did have to get surgery.
17. Of all the actors he's worked with, Harbour says he's learned the most from Denzel Washington.

They acted together in The Equalizer.
19. And finally, he takes A+++ selfies.
