    When he committed suicide, Markoff also wrote the words "Megan" and "Pocket" on the walls of his cell. Meagan McAllister was his fiance, and "Pocket" was a nickname they had for each other.

    Megan McAllister, in an email to ABC News shortly after Markoff's arrest, wrote:

    Following the robbery and murder of Julissa Brisman, Markoff headed to the Foxwoods resort in Connecticut to lay low. He took the $800 he'd stolen earlier from Trisha Leffler, an escort he'd found through Craigslist, and turned it in $5,300.

    Markoff, a promising medical student, reportedly hid a handgun in a hollowed-out copy of a Gray's Anatomy textbook in his home in Quincy, Massachusetts.
