Lots of Joe and Megan Wynberg's friends have been sharing photos of the Elf on The Shelf in various funny locations. So they decided to one-up them. "We thought, 'Wouldn't it be funny if we did a human Elf On A Shelf?'" he told BuzzFeed Canada. Joe put on a costume, sat on their fridge, and Megan took a photo. "It kind of took off from there."
The next day, FLE was back with another crazy look on his face. "Well, day one, and I am not sure about this 'Elf on the Shelf' thing. FLE ate the kids advent calendars, they will be devastated!" Megan wrote.
"FLE is out of control!" Megan said the next day. "I need to find my receipt. Couldn't handle those advent calendars he ate last night. Today is the second after all!"
The next night: "Because picking up after four kids isn't enough! FLE was pretty exited about the first snowfall of the year and I'm pretty sure he peed on the floor. I'm getting rid of this thing!"
Joe said that with four kids it's tough to find time to do the photo shoot every night. (Also: ADORABLE.)
Joe said this was one of the hardest photos to do. "It was a very challenging photo because I was actually hanging upside down," he said. "My wife did not get the pic the first time I did it." They nailed it on the second try.
The next day, FLE was up on the roof. "So FLE has been trying to get in the house all day," Megan wrote. "Then I found him doing this. I may have to bring him back in before the neighbours call the cops."
Their friends are losing it on Facebook.
The next day FLE "tried to get in the tree like his other 'Elf on the Shelf' buddies," according to Megan.
Here's their most recent shot. "I brought in re-enforcement to get FLE the 'Elf on the Shelf' under control," she wrote.
