17 Celebs Who Will Make You Want To Rewatch Freaks And Geeks

Only one (epic) season and Judd Apatow managed to turned the cult show into a real high school yearbook for a lot of future famous faces that you'd never expect.

1. Joanna Garcia

Joanna Garcia plays a bossy head cheerleader at the school who later makes out with one of the geeks in a very emotionally revealing game of 7 Minutes in Heaven.

Mostly she just yells at people and talks about what it's like to be pretty: "I don't know I've always looked this way."

Way to stay humble Joanna.

2. Shia LaBoeuf

Shia plays the school mascot who is replaced by Sam after he falls off of a cafeteria table and breaks his arm.

Given his pretty limited role, you can definitely see the comedic acting chops that would later make him the height of kid hilarity as Louis Stevens in Even Stevens.

3. Matt Czuchry

Before Matt Czuchry was playing dangerously douchey rich kid (but in a hot way) Logan Huntzberger on Gilmore Girls, he was playing...another douchey rich kid from a rival high school who gets into a scuffle with the freaks before a big game.

4. Rashida Jones

A very testy Rashida Jones. She plays a bully who tries and fails to make a play for James Franco's character.

Maybe she would have had better luck if she hadn't been too cool for showers - her hair is really greasy in this cameo. Anne from Parks and Recreation has much better hygiene.

5. Percy Daggs III

A young Percy Daggs, who most famously played lovable Veronica Mars sidekick Wallace, goes up against the McKinley High mathletes, and wins.

6. Lizzie Kaplan

Lizzie Kaplan plays a freak who dates Jason Segel's character, and is really into disco.

Saying the phrase, "hey are you ready to boogie-oogie-oogie?" to Jason Segel was probably the highlight of her career. Scratch that - the highlight of her life.

7. Squints, aka Chauncey Leopardi

Squints from The Sandlot is on Freaks and Geeks! All grown up, he plays a tormentor with a heart of...well, not gold. But eventually he becomes a nearly likeable character.

8. Allen Covert

Sometime in between his roles in Big Daddy and Deuce Bigelo: Male Gigolo, Allen Covert played a creepy liquor store clerk who sells the geeks non-alcoholic beer.

9. Ben Foster

Besides being insanely attractive, Ben Foster is also a well-respected actor who is probably best known for his role as Russell Corwin on Six Feet Under.

On Freaks and Geeks he played mentally challenged student Eli, who has an extensive knowledge of the show Three's Company.

10. Alexander Gould

You wouldn't recognize this very creepy looking kid, but Alexander Gould did NOT grow up to be the future serial killer he looked like on the show.

He became the voice of everyone's favorite gimpy clown fish, Nemo from Finding Nemo.

11. Samaire Armstrong

Samaire Armstrong made a couple appearances on the show a few years before she got her big break with blonde locks and a pixie cut playing Anna on The O.C.

Here she plays basically the most stoned out chick on the planet. The freaks tell her it's alright to take their spare chair at lunch and she acts like they told her how to get to Narnia.

She inspires this observation from Seth Rogan's character: "The Grateful Dead - the music sucks, the chicks are hot."

12. Ben Stiller

Ben plays a secret service agent who is unhappy with his job, and corners guidance counselor Mr. Rosso when then-Vice President George Bush visits the school.

It's a weird scenario, but it's full of gems like this quote. I think we all know what he's talking about - pancake chefs have got it all figured out.

13. Steve Higgins

Now Jimmy Fallon's late night right hand man, Steve Higgins played the AV Club teacher who tells the geeks the truth about jocks.

14. Jason Schwartzman

Jason Schwartzman was definitely born in the wrong decade, because he looks way too comfortable in that shirt, playing a clothing store clerk who sells the freaks fake ID's.

15. Leslie Mann

It just wouldn't be a Judd Apatow project if Leslie Mann wasn't somewhere in the picture. She plays a teacher that Bill develops a crush on.

She also really embraced that trend where women with a pixie cut would wear headbands, even though they clearly didn't need them.

16. David Krumholtz

About six years after becoming the grumpy elf we all loved in The Santa Clause, and one year after 10 Things I Hate About You, David Krumholtz comes home for a visit from college for a Schweiber family party.

He and Lindsay hit it off and all of a sudden you're like, James Franco who?

17. Kevin Corrigan

This is no surprise to anyone who has ever seen Kevin Corrigan in anything, but he plays a creep...with a camera.

He's a no good cousin of resident do-gooder Millie, and helps the freaks to manufacture fake ID's.
