Tell Us About That Time When Your "Best Friend" Stabbed You In The Back And The Inevitable Drama That Followed

Everyone needs a good and true friend.

Even if you don't realize it, it takes some kind of work to maintain a successful and mutually fulfilling friendship with someone. And for some reason, it can be really hard for some people to understand that loyalty, honesty, and just being real are key and important factors in any thriving friendship.

If your friends have never done any of the following, well, consider yourself very lucky. But, for those of us who do have stories to tell about someone who was thought to be a good friend actually turning out to be completely untrustworthy, I would LOVE to hear from you.

Maybe someone who you thought was your best friend was actually spreading rumors about your mental health or family life throughout your school or workplace, and you had no idea until an actual friend pulled you aside and told you.

Maybe you had a friend who thought it was possible to try to sabotage all of your other close relationships. They made up lies and gossip to spread within the inner friend group just to cause a civil war that either didn't work out for them or somehow managed to divide the whole friend group.

Possibly, you could have had a close friend who thought it was okay to make a move on that person you had been crushing on since you saw them on that one night out, or maybe they even went as far as to hit on your current or ex-significant other when you weren't around.

Or, how about this: You had a best friend who could never tell the truth, and no matter how much you stuck by their side, their lies ended up harming you in the end or putting you in a situation you never wanted to find yourself involved in.

Whatever those stories may be, I'm sure a lot of us have been through some version of feeling completely slighted by a close friend and subsequently having to end that relationship for the betterment of ourselves.
