LA LA LAND Movie Review

What a wonderful movie this is! I didn't expect to like it so much or the OK singing voices of Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. But I was willing to give it a try, and was pleasantly surprised. With the fun, lively opening numbers, the dancing crowds and memorable sing-a-longs, La La Land begins on the right foot and locks you in for an alluring, semi-emotional ride. The love affair between Emma and Ryan is reminiscent of all of the best memories of new love, and the enchanting music: jazz and showtunes complete this musical phenomena. Both leads give stellar performances and the movie takes you back to the first time you fall in love with someone. You know, when life is full of amazement, anticipation, and happiness -- all the good-hearted feelings we so desperately need now in this trumped era of cynics and haters. This movie is right on-time, and super-romantic without being unrealistic. Great movie. The soundtrack isn't too bad either... LOVE LOVE the songs: "City of Stars" and "We could start a fire" (John Legend).
