Laird Hamilton "Shoots The Pier" On Huge Malibu Wave, Rescues Surfer

Hurricane Marie is bringing big waves to Southern California this week. Hamilton made the most of them.

He shot the Malibu Pier on Tuesday, threading his way through the pylons on an overhead wave.

We don't know why this guy decided to go on and film a girl on the sand after the gnarly action in the water.

Aerial video captured by drone Tuesday also caught a surfer maneuvering through the Malibu pier.

On Wednesday, the waves were even bigger and Hamilton helped save a fellow surfer.

According to KABC-TV, the surfer lost his board in the water around 8:30 a.m. and Hamilton and another man rushed to help.
