My Overstock.com Chat Conversation

PLEASE, I BEG YOU, take a couple minutes out of your day and read the following chat conversation that I had with Overstock.com. I read these things all the time but this is the first time something of this magnitude happened to me. BTW, I'm "Visitor" in this conversation.

Melissa: Hi, my name is Melissa. How may I help you?

Visitor: Hi Melissa, I'm very interested in purchasing the Soho Live Edge Dining Table. But in all honesty, I can't, from the photos, figure out which color is which. When I put the item in my cart I want to make sure that the color I've chosen from the picture is the one that I put in my cart. Does that make sense?

Melissa: I'll be happy to check and help you with the product information.

Melissa: May I have the item number?

Visitor: Thank you. 16293489

Melissa: Thank you for the item number?

Visitor: The color table I'm interested in is the 3rd picture over from the left. But that color says "cognac" which is not an option from the drop down menu. So...which picture goes with what color choice? :)

Melissa: I did check and see that the color of the item is Brown.

Visitor: Okay, but that still doesn't answer my question. The options I can choose from the drop down menu are "Aged Maple, Espresso or Chestnut." I can't tell from the photos which one is Espresso, which one is Aged Maple or which one is Chestnut. I just want to make sure that the one I order is the color I wanted...from looking at the photos.

Melissa: Okay,

Visitor: I'm pretty sure the darkest one is "Espresso" but I don't know which one is Aged Maple and which one is Chestnut.

Melissa: May I have the order number?

Visitor: Melissa, there's no order #. I HAVEN'T ORDERED IT YET BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT COLOR IS WHAT.

Melissa: Okay,

Visitor: I will order as soon as I know which color I'm ordering. Am I making sense?

Melissa: Yes,

Melissa: I did check and see that the color is brown.

PAUSE...

Melissa: have I answered all your questions?

Visitor: They're ALL BROWN Melissa., but BROWN is NOT a color choice from the menu. And no, my question has not been answered. It doesn't appear that you're reading my message. I think I'm pretty clear as to what I'm looking for. Is there someone else who might understand me better?

Visitor: Have you looked at this item to see that there are three choices to choose from when ordering this table?

Melissa: Yes I had checked the item.

Visitor: Okay. So, what's the answer?

Melissa: I did check and see that the color is brown.

PAUSE...

Visitor: May I chat with your supervisor please.

Melissa: Please stay online while I transfer this chat to my Supervisor.

Visitor: Thank you, Melissa

Dylan: Hi, my name is Dylan. How may I help you?

(Melissa has left the chat.)

Visitor: Hi Dylan. Go ahead and take a look at the conversation I was having with Melissa and I think you'll see what I'm looking for.

Dylan: Hello there. This is Dylan. I am Melissa's Supervisor.

Visitor: Yes, I understand that, Dylan. (PAUSE.) Please read the above conversation I had with Melissa.

Dylan: I understand that you are concerned about the product colors. Let me have a check on it quickly.

Visitor: Thank you Dylan.

Dylan: You are welcome.

Visitor: If you could just look at the 3rd photo over from the left on the website for this table, that is the one I want. I just want to know which choice that one is from the drop down menu.

Dylan: Alright, I will give detailed information about the colors.

(3 minutes pass)

Dylan: I did check and see that the color is brown.

This is when I disconnected.

Holy crap. Going to purchase table locally.
