TV News Anchor Battling Cancer Tells Viewers He Only Has Months To Live

Dave Benton, an anchor at WCIA-TV in Champaign, Illinois, says his brain cancer is back —  and that doctors give him "four-to-six months before things turn bad."

He will soon begin an antibody treatment and chemotherapy to try to slow the tumor's growth. In the meantime, Benton says he's "dedicated to working."

I'll be here bringing you the news as long as I am able. I'm grateful for the outpouring of support, prayers and cards. It's meant the world to me. It's changed my life.

Benton, a born-again Christian, credits his faith with being courageous in the face of death.

I believe that I'm in God's hands. I'm at peace, and I know that he is going to take care of the days ahead. And the goal here is to have the best ones possible.
