Bass Reeves was a Deputy U.S. Marshal for 32 years in the hellscape that was and is Oklahoma, captured 3,000 felons, and shot 14 men in the line of duty. He was never wounded, mostly due to the mesmerizing effects of that incredible mustache. Oh, and he began all of this at the age of 38.
