Promising review: "I tried the brown in store and decided to order the black and white online because it wasn't in stock in store. This is jumpsuit is incredible!! Fits tighter in the torso for me than in the photo, but I didn't feel the need to size up. Got many compliments first wear and its extremely comfy! Luca-mercedes Stemer / Hyer Goods

I just bought this purse for myself and I love it SO much. I was looking for a high-quality bag that wasn't too flashy but had a little somethin' somethin' to it and the croc-embossed leather really nailed that for me. What I really love, though, is that the brand — Hyer Goods, a woman-founded small biz — uses all sustainable materials including leftover dead stock leather from other producers. This prevents *tons* of perfectly good fabric from being sent to landfills every month and means no extra greenhouse gas emissions are required to create their materials.

Promising review: "I am OBSESSED with the mini tan croc bucket bag. It is so fabulous. The design is stunning and the quality is superb. I got so many compliments using it this weekend. It feels good knowing this bag is made from leather destined for waste. I love the design and quality so much I just ordered the tan croc wallet. Thank you, Dana, for providing such beautiful products (and incredibly fast shipping — received my order to LA in three days!)" —Rachel D.

Get it from Hyer Goods for $189+ (available in two sizes and in 14 colors/designs).

10. A wedding-appropriate silky wrap dress with deep-V neckline, an open back, and a calf- or thigh-baring slit (totally your choice if you wanna Angelina Jolie it up or not come photo time) 'cause chances are you have no less than three save-the-dates taped up on your fridge rn.

Whimsy + Row

Whimsy + Row is a woman-founded sustainable clothing brand that produces their limited-run designs in Los Angeles. They use upcycled and eco-friendly fabrics and ensure that all of their workers are paid a fair wage.

Promising review: "I wore this dress for my engagement photos. The color was perfect for the timing of our photos and wedding (both in September), and the lightness and cut of the fabric moved beautifully in the breeze. We took our photos along the cliffs/shoreline in San Diego, and the color and movement were stunning against the backdrop. The cut of this dress, with the deep V-neck, tie waist, and open back, is particularly attractive, and I have received so many compliments on our photos."

Get it from Whimsy + Row for $248 (available in sizes XXS–XL and in five colors).

11. A pair of Aussie-adored, beat-'em-into-the-ground Blundstones that'll still bounce back after countless romps through mud puddles, snowbanks, and even cow manure.

I've had the 1615s for a few months now and I basically wear them every day. They don't have a break-in period (in my experience, anyways), they run true to size, and aside from being tough as nails, the best part is how lightweight they are. As someone who is guilty of dragging their feet, that last part prevents lots of trips and falls!

Promising review: "I kept these boots in my cart for nearly a month because I was hesitant to spend $200 on another pair of shoes. But they don’t lie when they say the best things are worth the wait (whoever the heck 'they' are). I put them on as soon as I got them and I may even wear them to bed. They’re incredibly comfortable and feel like they’ll last as long as a $200 pair of boots should. They’re true to size. The ankle part is a bit snug but the tabs on either end help to pull them on and I’m sure they’ll loosen up with time. This is my first Amazon review all just to tell you to buy these boots. Update: I’ve had these boots for a few months now and they have loosened up just swell and I’m still wearing them even when it’s hot as heck and my ankles are sweating." —Brandy

Get them from Amazon for $127.82+ (available in sizes 5–14 and in five colors).

12. Or a pair of Dr. Martens Chelseas which can not only keep up with daily wear for more than a decade (I attest to this!) but also add some serious edge to your silk midi skirt + sweater combo.

Doc Martens

I am obsessed with Dr. Martens — thanks, in part, to four years at a Doc-lovin' liberal arts college. I own a shameful number of Chelseas, platforms, and 1460s — some of which I've retired but will never have the heart to part with. These boots last foreverrrrrrr. And the ones I don't wear anymore are still in perfectly good shape, they're just from phases I've grown out of (namely florals). My favorite ones I've been wearing for 10 years now and the soles and leather are still in incredible condition.

Promising review: "I didn't even have to break these in. I work as a barista, so I'm on my feet a lot. I wore them out for the first time during my shifts and there was no discomfort around my ankles, heels, or toes! I'm a true 9.5, so I order all my Docs in a size 9, and it fits perfect! Also, these shoes go great with everything and will give you a great confidence boost. Buy them! (:" —elizabeth v.

Get them from Dr. Martens for $150 (available in sizes 5–12 and in 12 colors).

And don't worry — the winterized sandals feature the brand's same signature cork-latex footbed and two-strap design, so comfort and quality aren't a question.

Promising review: "OMG I LOVE THESE! So comfy, warm, and fun. I’m an educator and on my feet all day long and my feet feel great at the end of the day! I love being able to really extend my sandal season with these, too!" —Amazon Customer

Get them from Amazon for $117.07+ (available in sizes 5–15 and 11 colors).

21. A Reformation wool miniskirt if you're ready to roll through fall without ever pulling on a pair of jeans. Solved that for ya.

Get it from Reformation for $88 (available in sizes 14–24 and in two colors).

22. An AllSaints leather jacket with classic lapels and simple gunmetal finishings that make it a cinch to style. Like, seriously — throw it on over basically anything.

Yes, the jacket is spendy but it'll truly last you forever since it's constructed from semi-vegetable-dyed leather that wasn't exposed to chrome during tanning (the popular practice isn't environmentally friendly and can lead to cracking).

Get it from AllSaints for $459 (available in sizes 00–10).

23. An oversized ~vegan~ leather blazer if the only thing your fall outfits are missing is some serious textural OOMPH.

Promising review: "Truly cannot wait to wear this staple piece this fall — dresses, jeans, work attire, date nights, fall I come!!!! It's a buttery-soft piece that is just long enough to be paired with shorter dresses and long enough to not have the look of the 'boyfriend' styles. This is my first of two blazers that I've purchased initially, and I'm happy to say I'd definitely recommend to others. I'd love to see what else I can try and potentially love and brag about!!!" —Kaya S.

Get it from Eloquii for $149.95+ (available in sizes 14–28 and in two colors).

24. A pair of dazzling star-embellished tights from D.bleu.dazzled — the brand behind some of Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Lizzo, and Rihanna's go-to hosiery.

A model wearing the tights in black

Indie designer Destiney Bleu hand embellishes her brand's hosiery and her pieces come in a variety of nude shades that suit all skin tones. Yes, they're pricier than a two-pack from Hanes, but they won't rip in two seconds flat (or even two months, for that matter).

Get them from D.bleu.dazzled for $150 (available in sizes O/S and O/S Plus).

25. A thick, textured cardigan with voluminous sleeves and an easy fit you can pair with just about anything — even day-old sweats.

I have this cardigan and I wear it with everything. I will say that the price nearly turned me away (nearly $100 in this economy??), but I took the plunge just because I'd had such great luck with other Everlane pieces. The cardigan is perfectly cropped — not too long and not too short. The dense rib knit is also just incredible in quality. No hate to my $20 cardigans from H&M and Target (you know I love you!!) but this definitely feels different and like something I'll be wearing for more than a few seasons.
