    1. A dried pampas grass bundle that totally nails the au natural, bohemian look they've been longing to achieve. Plus, they don't have to water them! Win win.

    Amazon, Jasmin Sandal/BuzzFeed

"I lovingly call this wispy bunch 'my foo-foos' because that's just what they embody to me. Fluffy fall decor that...won't die if I don't water it. It's just perfect. Once they arrived I set them out in the sun (like the brand suggested) so they could expand and fluff out to their full potential before giving them a quick spritz of hairspray to help with shedding — they haven't shed since! They're the last stylish touch I needed, along with this vase, to tie my neutral-themed bedroom together." —Jasmin Sandal

Shipping Info: Available on Amazon Prime with two-day shipping. Non-Prime shipping options will still arrive before Christmas (see Amazon’s full shipping information here).

Get it from Amazon for $19.88.

    2. A burlap letter board where they can display cutesy sayings that will not only collect IRL compliments, but also IG ones because they'll certainly be posting it to their main.

    Ali Faccenda / BuzzFeed, amazon.com

"I purchased this letter board for my new apartment because I wanted a fun way to display different sayings or quotes based on the season. It's a fun way to be able to switch up your decor and have something customized instead of having to continuously purchase new decor. I'm super impressed with the quality and love all the additional characters and icons that come with it. I've had other letter boards before this one with just basic letters and punctuation marks but these icons take it to a whole new level of fun." —Ali Faccenda

Shipping Info: Available on Amazon Prime with two-day shipping. Non-Prime shipping options will still arrive before Christmas (see Amazon’s full shipping information here).

Get it from Amazon for $22.70 (available in four different colors and various sizes and frame colors).

"Last time I was in Austin I went to this indoor holiday market that had a whole bunch of small businesses and artists, including Illuminidol. The second I saw their display, I couldn’t help myself and immediately bought tongue-in-cheek prayer candles for myself, my friends, and my sister. Ali Faccenda / BuzzFeed, Amazon

"I am in LOVE with these mirrors. I got them with the intention of putting them somewhere in my living room but once I was laying out my gallery wall I knew they had to be integrated in it somehow. I was so happy they offered it in two different sizes so you could pair them together because two of the same size would be overbearing. I think these would make a super-cute addition to a bathroom as well as to use as a vanity or jewelry tray!" —Ali Faccenda

    a buzzfeeder's dalmatian vase
    Chelsea Stuart / BuzzFeed

Katie Kimmel is a Mojave Desert–based artist. She not only sells ceramics, but apparel, stationary, and stickers, too.

"Years ago Katie did a collab with Urban Outfitters where they sold her Dalmatian vases and I was INSTANTLY in love. While it was my dream to own one, I was also not at a place in my life where I could drop $125 on made-to-order dog decor. I was crushed when the collab ended and thought about the vase frequently and then, when I landed my job at BuzzFeed, I thought there was no more fitting gift to myself, so I headed to her site to order one straight from the source! I was nervous that I'd have buyer's remorse, but TBH I am still just as obsessed with it now as the day I unwrapped it. It feels way more special than a store-bought vase and I'm hoping that one day I'll have kids/grandkids who'll be amped to inherit it." —Chelsea Stuart

Shipping info: Vases are custom made and take four weeks to ship. (That said, it's a present that's worth the wait!!)

Not only does this thing make me just feel fancy and put together (the organization!), it looks great and is beyond easy to keep up with. Each component (like the corkboard, mirror, and boards) is hung with hooks, making it simple to rearrange and take off to write on. medium-size cactus in clay pot
    Bloomscape

"This spiky guy (still searching for perfect name — pls help me!) joined the family late last year and has really blossomed. Initially there was a minor hiccup with the deliveryman, who set the box on my stoop upside down 🥴 even though it was clearly marked 'this side up' (don't worry, the plant was totally fine thanks to the thick insulation inside the box). But since then, my cactus has sprouted three new leaves and seems to be thriving. (And besides, Bloomscape will replace your plant for free if it dies within 30 days.)

"As someone who enjoys plants but has neither the patience nor desire to deal with anything green that requires a very specific amount of sunlight or soil that's made of more than five components, I appreciate the simplicity of this plant. It even came with a handy care card but this dude is so chill that I just sit him in front of my south-facing window and he seems happy enough.

"I will say one more thing and this is that this is a cactus...and it is spiky...which I had to learn the hard way. Now I just admire him from a distance." —Melanie Aman

They are SO freaking soft, cool to the touch, and they don't pop off the corners of my bed even though I have a pretty thick mattress topper and — perhaps more pertinent — a BF who seemingly practices tae kwon do in his sleep. illustrated print of famous cookbooks lined up and stacked up
    Ideal Bookshelf

Ideal Bookshelf is a small business based in Maui.

"To put it simply, I adore this cookbook print from Ideal Bookshelf! I framed it and hung it in my kitchen, and at long last the room looks finished. Call me old-fashioned, but I love cooking from cookbooks and reach for them more often than I google recipes. Knowing that the recipes have been lovingly and time-consumingly tested, dog-earing the pages, leaving myself little notes, I could go on for ages. But having my love of cookbooks rendered in this print is wonderful, especially since I own and love many of the ones depicted! The print arrived safe and sound with no creases, the paper is nice and sturdy, and the print quality is top-notch. I highly recommend this, or any of Ideal Bookshelf's beautiful illustrated prints, for your own home or as a gift for the book lover in your life." —Rachel Dunkel

buzzfeed editor holding a candle jar with an illustration of a black, white, and red Air Jordan 1 sneaker on it
    Kayla Boyd / BuzzFeed

Pretty Honest Candles is a Black woman–owned business. Their candles are hand-poured in Charlotte, North Carolina.

"As someone who both collects Jordan sneakers and burns candles daily, I couldn't think of a more perfect product. Pretty Honest Candles is Black woman–owned business that sells handmade, slow-burning soy candles. The candles are made without harmful chemicals or additives and give you about 50 hours of burn time. I can't lie, I've only lit it once because I want it to last forever! But, if you're wondering, it definitely does not smell like shoes. It has a fresh scent of mandarin balm, tangelo, and eucalyptus. 28. An adorable tissue box cover if the fact that they frequently have the sniffles totally messes with their aesthetic.

a white house-shaped tissue box cover
    Elizabeth Lilly / BuzzFeed

"I, an adult woman, cannot remember the last time I bought a box of tissues for my home (though I have several purse packs?!). It may have been when I most recently had a sinus infection, which I guess was two-plus years ago. But now that I’m playing house as a grown-ass person in an apartment to myself, I’m trying to be *responsible*. So obviously buying this whimsical tissue box cover we’ve featured in a million BuzzFeed Shopping posts is peak adulting.

"Perhaps the reason I’ve been so bad at keeping around a box of tissues is because tissues just look...kind of ugly out in the open. But not with this lil’ cover! Now it’s a ~design element~ that I’ll hopefully remember to keep full. For now, it’s filled with a square box of tissues I unearthed from my old apartment’s closet while packing; it's presently neatly housed inside the tissue box cover, providing the "smoke" for the tiny chimney. The only downside to committing to this box is that I'll have to buy square-shaped tissue boxes only now. But I can live with that. And with my not-snotty nose." —Elizabeth Lilly

Shipping Info: Available on Amazon Prime with two-day shipping. Non-Prime shipping options will still arrive before Christmas (see Amazon’s full shipping information here).

Get it from Amazon for $6.72+ (available in five styles).

    29. A chrome table lamp that'll take their apartment from cute and well decorated to — BAM — 5-star hotel in no time.

    Ikea

"I have a curse and that curse is that I can't go into Ikea without spending at least $200 and buying a bag full of stuff I don't need but *do* instantly fall in love with. This lamp is just one such item. I already had a perfectly good lamp at home when I laid on eyes on this one but I mean, come on...the bulbs! the mid-century shape! It's just so sleek and I knew instantly it had to be mine. The only hitch was that the chrome didn't go with my vibe. Alas, I had a (maybe ill-conceived but worked-out-in-the-end) plan. Despite the fact that I live in NYC and don't have any outdoor space whatsoever, I do fancy myself a DIYer so I picked up some gold spray paint, spread out some cardboard on the floor of my shower, and got to work updating the finish to match my aesthetic. Once I was done I was SO excited with the results so TL;DR: get it even if chrome isn't your preferred finish!" —Chelsea Stuart

Flutter by Katie is a Brooklyn-based small business from Katie Flaherty.

"After years of embracing a minimalist lifestyle (not because I was trendy, but because I couldn’t afford much more than an Amazon sofa and a toothbrush), I have finally been able to live my best life and decorate my apartment the way I’ve always dreamed: by filling all 600 square feet with charming oddities. Like many a great and organized hoarder before me, I like to define my apartment’s aesthetic as 'eclectic.' This term helps me justify the shelf in my living room that has both a life-size pug lamp and a life-size felted Ben & Jerry’s pint of ice cream. I love finding good pieces with a great story, and of all the weird knickknacks that fill my Brooklyn apartment to the brim, two of my very favorite pieces are small bottles holding lovely little moths from Etsy shop Flutter by Katie.

"I found Flutter by Katie while stalking Brooklyn flea markets a couple of years ago looking for a Christmas gift for my spouse. Instead, I found Katie’s work — i.e., gifts for my spouse to get me. I loved how gorgeous every jar and terrarium was, each with such original detail that every piece felt like its own miniature world. I loved these pieces so much, in fact, that I gave my husband full range in the selection process. With dozens of colorful jars full of butterflies and moths of various shapes and sizes, with different bottles and thimbles and plants in place, I knew I would like any of them. I opened my gift on Christmas Day to find two understated and lovely pieces, each with a tiny moth/butterfly (I really do not know anything about lepidopteron, other than their going by the order name lepidopteron) and each with unique accent pieces to accentuate their beauty. The first floats in a clear jar above three small acorns, and the second sits atop a gorgeous (and teensy) apothecary jar.

"The pieces themselves are surprisingly sturdy and can be personalized upon request. When I talked with Katie, she joked about how she must look lugging a storefront’s worth of butterflies on the subway. If those butterflies can make it across Brooklyn on the G train…they can make it anywhere. Katie recommended keeping them away from direct sunlight, which I did, and after two years mine still look absolutely lovely. They are set between two windows and not in direct sunlight, but do still see a fair amount of sun and haven’t faded a bit.

"The butterflies used in her pieces are farmed responsibly through connections Katie has made herself, where she uses specimens that have already passed naturally, giving them new life in her gorgeous artwork. I love my little lepidopteron and the art Flutter by Katie has brought into my home." —Mal Mower

Shipping info: If you are local to the NYC area and can pick up from the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, message the seller at the time of purchase to arrange a pickup date/time. Cost of shipping varies due to weight and size of the piece, but can found in the notes section of each item.

"This is my adorable mother. Don't let that smile fool you though — we are an extremely competitive family and just minutes after this photo was taken, she did three *very dramatic* victory laps around the kitchen counter. We've been lucky to spend most of 2020 quarantining together, so you can imagine there have been plenty of games and bragging rights to go around. For Christmas, I decided to splurge and buy her a classic backgammon set, but one that could also double as really beautiful house decor." —Jen Tonti
