8 Subtle Signs Of Intelligence

You may be a genius an not even realize!

Posted on

1. You have trouble expressing yourself

Intelligent people have no problem expressing themselves using mathematical equations or sophisticated poems. But when it comes to real life conversations, things get a lot more tricky. If you seem to stumble on your words a lot during conversations, don't seek speech therapy just yet. You could just be a genius.

2. You always get the wrong answer

Unconventional intelligence means unconventional strategies. If you find yourself getting problems wrong on your math tests, that doesn't necessarily mean you're dumb. It could just mean you have a different way of solving them.

3. You think you're dumb

With great intelligence comes a great understanding of the vastness of the universe, and with that comes the realization that you know almost nothing. This causes many intelligent people to mistakenly believe that they're dumb. Some of your less intelligent friends however, believe that being able to navigate their immediate surroundings makes them intelligent.

4. Your friends think you're dumb

As Friedrich Nietzsche said, "those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music." Often times highly intelligent people are misunderstood by their more average peers. When you go on your usual tangents about the nature of mankind, other people who don't understand may mistake your ideas for gibberish.

5. Your teachers think you're dumb

As the saying goes, "Those who can, do. Those who cannot, teach." A sad reality of this world is that teachers often lack the intellectual ability to understand the brightest of their students. When a student decides to go 4 years ahead of what is being covered in class, the teacher can sometimes mistake this for not understanding what is currently being taught.

6. You're overweight

There are only 24 hours in a day. When you spend hours of your time researching quantum mechanics or proving long unsolved mathematical problems just for fun, eating right and exercising take a back seat.

7. You are kind to animals

Showing kindness towards animals shows that you have an appreciation of the world that goes beyond yourself. Some of the greatest geniuses in history were known to occasionally pause their intellectual PURRsuits to spend time with their furry friends.

8. You don't make a lot of money

The greatest intellectual pursuits aren't usually the highest paying. While your friends may all partake in the drudgery of finance or business, you're too busy writing manuscripts, even if no one reads them.
