Habit is a woman-owned small business founded by Tai Adaya, who is half Mexican and half Indian/Pakistani. The brand is dedicated to standing against the stigma of aging in the beauty industry and focusing on keeping skin healthy instead.
"I've been using this every day and I love it! It's so convenient to just spray it on over your makeup or once you're ready instead of adding another layer of lotion to your face. It's non-greasy so it doesn't get you oily; it only gives your skin a pretty, dewy look. Plus, touchups are super easy since all I have to do is spray again and there's no worry of disturbing makeup. It's small enough that you can just throw it in your bag. And when I say it smells like a dream, I'm not kidding!" —Nusrat Sultana

Machete is a woman-owned small business located in Atlanta that makes the most stunning accessories from earrings, to phone cases, to hair clips.
"I'm a self-proclaimed hoop girl, but since having my ears pierced since the first grade, I always want to be careful of the weight of the earrings I'm popping in my lobes. These are literally weightless, I can't feel them in my ears, and they look FAB with everything I own. I also am such a fan of the earring backings on these, they're unlike any I've see before. They're a flat cylinder backing that are comfortable and stay put on the earring post so I don't have to worry about them sliding off the back and the hoops falling out." —Allison Faccenda

"If you have hair that gets greasy a mere 12 hours after bathing, please hear me out: the Headquarters for oily roots line is your new holy grail and it costs less than $8 per product. To give you a little more context, my hair is best described as boring. It’s thin! It’s straight! I literally have to use dry shampoo every single day of my life! Which is why I was so damn excited about this exfoliating scrub and cleansing wash.
First off, the grapefruit and basil scents are fantastic. I would bathe in it. I want a candle that smells like it. The scent is distinct without being overpowering, and it provides *just* the right amount of aromatherapy without overwhelming my very small, very poorly ventilated bathroom. The scrub feels like putty in your hands and doesn’t feel harsh on my scalp; the shampoo lathers beautifully, even though it doesn’t use sulfates or silicones. Once my hair was dry, I immediately got that just-bown-out bounce that you leave the salon with — when your hair is so clean that it feels like air. The best part… it’s extended the time I can go between washing my hair and my scalp genuinely feels clean. I can usually get away with washing my hair every other day (thank you, Aveda dry shampoo powder) but can now go two days *without* relying on dry shampoo! And with dry shampoo? Three days! And if you have oily hair like me… you know how ludicrously good that is.
TLDR; this line has been my favorite new haircare find in a while, and the brand itself has dedicated lines for oily, balanced, and dry scalps (their tagline is being ~obsessed with roots~) to ensure you’re getting the most targeted treatment possible. AND IT’S AFFORDABLE." —AnaMaria Glavan

The eight-piece set includes three cups, two dishes, and three bags. All items are free of BPA, lead, PVC, latex and phthalates.
"If you're looking for a set of reusable bags to reduce your waste, look no further. This Zip Top silicone set is just about perfect. The eight-piece full set comes with cups (with circular flat bottoms), dishes (with elongated flat bottoms) and bags (for easy taking to-go without taking up a bunch of room). They're airtight, and just EASY PEASY to use — aka I don't have to track down a matching lid. Half-eaten oranges, leftover crepe batter, granola, all live handily in these pretty lavender containers. The pointed sides make for effortless pouring — everything from shaking granola into my morning yogurt to dispensing thin crepe batter into a pan for a weekend breakfast.
They're dishwasher-safe (on the top AND bottom racks), freezer-safe, AND microwave safe, so you can truly say goodbye forever to disposable bags. They haven't retained any sorts of staining or smells and wash up beautifully. At just over $11 a pop when you break it down, they're not *cheap* but when you add up box after box after box of plastic bags, you'll make up for the cost in no time flat. I haven't been ~on the go~ much in the past year (🙃), but when I do I'll definitely use these to bring snacks to the office. And they come in pretty pastel colors that personally just make me happy to look at in my fridge." —Maitland Quitmeyer

"This is one of my favorite prints in my room and the shop has so many good ones that it was very difficult to only buy one! The colors in the print are so soothing and really go with the overall vibe of the image, which to me, exudes coziness and the feeling of being at peace in your own space. I also love that the sweatshirt says "crowned" — it's such a simple, yet empowering detail." —Kayla Boyd

"Paperclip chains are a really big trend right now, and finding nice jewelry you can wear with confidence every day but ISN'T a huge investment when you get tired of it can be a challenge. But demi-fine jewelry (like Baublebar's gold vermeil) is here for us when we need it. If you don't know, gold vermeil is an extra-thick plating (2.5 microns in this case) that's longer lasting than regular gold plating. That means you can get it wet! Ocean water and heavier shampoos, etc. will break the plating down faster, but you can *live* in this jewelry without worrying about it getting ruined. I've worn this necklace while working out (altho my workouts are less....intense than some — I hate working out) and in the shower (but not when I wash my hair, which is about once a week) and there have been no signs of wear and tear on the necklace at all.
I love that the necklace is the same kind of chain the *whole length* so you can make it as long or short as you like, depending how you wear it. Necklaces you can only clip at the tail are so annoying. I'll be wearing this all the time to just feel a smidge more put together, even when I'm rocking up to my Google Meetings in my actual PJs. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is a very *gold* gold so I don't wear it with some of my other...less gold? gold jewelry. But if you like to mix and match, it will look great with your other pieces!" —Maitland Quitmeyer

"As a diehard Disney fan, I obviously had to buy this palette. The illustrations on the packaging are absolutely fabulous and so are the colors! I personally really love layering the shimmery shades over solid ones for a little something extra. "Okay, yes, this has been a long time favorite product at BuzzFeed. But in quarantine, my S.O. and I have moved in together, which means we’ve also started sharing a bathroom on a much more regular basis than before. After a couple of months, it became clear that we needed something that would actually work to cover up poop odor, and STAT. So I turned to this spray-before-you-go essential oil concoction. And yes! It does exactly what is says it does. Thank goodness." —Natalie Brown

"As a reader who's built a sizable book collection, I love the idea of making my copies really my own in this regal way. Much cooler than simply writing your name! It feels so official stamping every single book. Can you imagine? Decades later, when my descendants look through my home library and see all my books stamped like this, how splendid that would be? I’ll tell you: very." —Nusrat Sultana

Bread Beauty Supply is a small woman-owned brand that specializes in products for textured hair. They carry hair wash, oils, masks, and scrunchies.
These products work best for hair types 3a–4c and is a Clean at Sephora product.
"I've been using these products for at least the last four months (minus the oil which I have not tried yet) and I love how they work on my 4C kinks, coils, and curls to achieve moisture retention and overall softness. Between the shampoo and conditioner, I actually adore the shampoo a little more since it has a creamy/milky texture and doesn't lather too much (my preference). Still, the conditioner is pretty solid for restoring moisture and other nutrients. I've also grown to love that both those products come in packets and not bottles. They are a little different from product packaging that I've used in the past but I realize I'm able to get out the very, very last drop of product with these squeezable packets. It's far better than futile bottle shaking and I know when I throw a packet away, that it's truly empty and I got all my money's worth, baby! 🤑I enjoyed it enough to re-up on another box set for myself and get two more for friends." —Marquaysa Battle

"I bought this recently for my white porcelain kitchen sink and I've since texted five people about it, which is really a lot for such a boring grown-up product. It cleans beautifully, but the *best* is its ability to repel stains after cleaning. You know that thing when you rinse out your coffee cup and the coffee water just lingers in your sink and you have to purposefully rinse it out for two minutes? You don't have to do that — the coffee can't stick to the sink and just goes RIGHT down the drain. Time saved, sink clean — this is really a Virgo dream product right here." —Maitland Quitmeyer

"This black truffle oil-infused hot sauce definitely surprised me. At first, I didn't even like it! But then I found myself adding it to more and more foods, and suddenly it was my most used hot sauce of the week. The truffle flavor is definitely subtle, but it has an interesting taste that pairs nicely with barbecue. Expect a thick consistency and fairly sweet taste, almost like pureed bell peppers. I would definitely recommend marinating shrimp in it or slathering it over grilled veggies. It has no preservatives and comes in a fancy glass bottle so — hello — great gift idea right here!" —Rebecca O'Connell

"Reviewers recommend sizing up! I recently treated myself to these and forgot to do so, but they still fit well (my heel is just a teeeeeny bit over the edge in the back, but I don't mind because they stay on my foot more easily). I'm honestly obsessed — I can't believe how affordable they were, especially considering how high fashion they look. They just make me smile!!! The grippy soles give a nice cushion and are for some reason printed with fruit designs? Can't explain it but only adds to the happy feet feels these give me. Oh, and they're compliment magnets on Insta, too." —Katy Herman

"So I LOVE to be comfy, but honestly, I only wear this and one other pair of sweatpants. Even after 2020! But with these, I can wear 'em out with my ankle boots and coat and the tapered cut makes them feel like I'm not wearing sweats. All of my friends who've seen them have given me compliments about them. Also if you've never purchased anything from Z Supply, their stuff is the SOFTEST.' —Elizabeth Lilly

"If you’ve ever wanted lash extensions but didn’t want the hassle associated with them, you will fall unconditionally and irrevocably in love with the Glossier Lash Slick. (That’s a Twilight reference, don’t h8.) I admit that I didn’t think I would like it — I’m not an eyeliner gal (I lack the patience required) and rely heavily on blush and mascara to make me look half awake, so I usually prefer formulas that add a crap ton of drama. But this! This is so surprisingly good! It doesn’t flake, doesn’t clump, lengthens a ton, and looks *extremely* natural. It’s also incredibly easy to remove! My regular face wash is able to take off every last speck, no intense rubbing required.
It’s also very buildable, so I can add on multiple swipes to give my look some extra oomph if I wanted to… and it still doesn’t look clumpy or smudge. I’ve stopped wearing mascara every day due to ::looks around:: these times, but this is my holy grail eye product and will eventually become my ~wear this every single day~ mascara once I get back to the office." —AnaMaria Glavan

"It's hard to find a good rug at a good price, but I've been very happy with how this rug looks and performs. I can't get enough color in my home, so having this large *pop* really makes any room — yes, I have moved this from room to room, because in my opinion, every space should have a multicolored floral rug, and I can't decide which one this rug should live in!" —Rachel Dunkel

"This is my most beloved ring at the moment and I've wanted one in this exact style for some time now. I love the asymmetrical placement of the stones where they're not in a perfect aligned shape, it adds some character. It honestly looks fab when I wear it on any finger — thumb, index, middle finger (it truly doesn't matter, it looks good ALWAYS). I've washed my hands a bunch with it too and I've seen no signs of wear and tear. This is a jewelry ~steal.~" —Allison Faccenda

"My roommates and I have varying levels of snobbery when it comes to coffee. For example, I'm cool with some Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee, but one of my roommates only buys his coffee from a fancy beanery in Williamsburg. Despite our different palates, we all loved and raved about Atlas's coffee. We used an electric grinder and tried making it with both a normal coffee maker and a French press. The Colombian coffee was very smooth and chocolatey, with an almost creamy texture even when taken black." —Rebecca O'Connell

"I swear by this stuff! I have sweaty feet and I'm always mortified when I'm at a "shoes-off" house because I don't know what my feet will smell like. To relieve that stress for guests at my place, I leave this in plain sight by our shoe rack so anyone can spritz it on their shoes or their feet. I use it whenever I've been walking a lot and it keeps the entryway from smelling like feet." —Mal Mower

"I have this moisturizer and as someone with oily skin, I approve!! Once you squeeze it out of the tube, it looks just like a creamy gel. But once you apply it to your skin, it feels cooling and dries to a soft matte finish (totally wasn't expecting that). Because of that, it doesn't make my face feel excessively oily throughout the day (and I literally wear this all day). I'm also prone to large, painful cystic breakouts and this hasn't aggravated my acne at all. My mom has dry skin — the total opposite of mine — and when she tried some, it hydrated her face enough to the point where she didn't feel like she needed to reapply during the day. This moisturizer seems to strike the perfect balance for the needs of both dry and oily skin!" —Jasmin Suknanan

"You can check out my full Girlfriend Collective leggings review for more deets but the tl;dr is that they will faithfully support you through any and every exercise. I love these leggings so dang much that I've purchased eight (winces) pairs during quarantine and they're all in heavy rotation. I love the compression fit; it's supportive without constricting my movement or breathing. And as someone who sweats a lot, I especially love that these leggings wick away moisture. If you can afford the splurge, I highly recommend snagging yourself a pair before I buy all of them." —Melanie Aman

"I have one of these and my brushes have seriously never been cleaner. All you have to do is fill the bowl halfway with water and brush cleanser, attach your brush to whichever collar fits, dip it into the water, and turn the spinner on. I found there's a *bit* of a learning curve to using it (you have to hover your brush right at the top of the water and not fully submerge it), but once you get the hang of it, it's actually pretty fun. The best part, imo, is that you can spin your brushes almost completely dry! When I used to wash them by hand, I typically had to let them dry overnight before I could use them again but now they're ready to go in less than an hour. PS: You can use whatever cleanser you like, but I've had really good luck with e.l.f.'s Brush Shampoo (and it doesn't hurt that it's super affordable)." —Chelsea Stuart

"It's kind of wild how much I love this simple collapsible mug. While some may consider it a backpacking luxury item, I think it's a justified must-have considering my parter and I used it for coffee, as a bowl, and as a measuring cup multiple times a day every day on our last backpacking trip. Even for morning day hikes it'd be fun to bring along! It folds down *so* small but doesn't feel flimsy when you're drinking or eating out of it because of the sturdy ring around the lip. Love, love, love." —Rachel Dunkel

Gobble offers weekly deliveries of chef prepared ingredients. Each recipe takes less than 15 minutes to make. You can choose what you want to receive from their menu which includes low carb and veggie options.
"Behold my beautiful shrimp dish that I whipped up in a mere 20 minutes and even my southern mama (a tough critic who often feeds me veggies in fritters and bread) raved about! After my Gobble box delivered, I, naturally, was served a Facebook ad about Gobble with a promise of 15-minute meals. This recipe card for Honey Harissa Shrimp didn’t specifically say it would take me 15 minutes to make, but I timed it nonetheless (also I had about a ~45 minute window before my next meeting to cook and then eat). I was able to whip up this meal like a fire was lit underneath me (again, my schedule; plus I was on the verge of hanger) and clean up after myself on the way. The packing of individual ingredients were easy to open (not always the case with meal kits!) and there was plenty of the marinade left to drizzle over my plated lunch. I rarely have dressing/sauces/condiments left over in meal kits because I like my food *really* saucy. So this was a wonderful little side benefit! Did I mention that this was my first time marinating shrimp? And this was probably only my third time actually even cooking shrimp! It also made two generous servings of lunch, even though my mom had mentally prepared to have to maybe fix herself something else for lunch. Out of other meal kits I’ve tried, I’ve definitely been left with meager portions (guilty parties rhyme with Stew Bacon). So score one for Gobble in comparison to basically other meal kit I've tried." —Elizabeth Lilly

"I use this religiously and notice a huuuge difference. I have allergies and tend to rub my eyes, which isn't great for my lashes, but this serum seriously helps with fallout and helps my lashes look much longer — when I use this they grow long enough to brush my brow bone, which would never happen otherwise. At the end of last year, I tried a different lash product (after running out of Grande lash for a while because ::shrugs:: pandemic) and it did *nothing* after *weeks*of trying. Now I'm back on the Grande lash for five to six weeks now and my lashes are already significantly longer. It just works, my friends." —Maitland Quitmeyer

"These are great everyday boots that look amazing with basically everything and really ~elevate~ whatever you pair them with. They took a little time to break in around the toe box for me, but it really paid off, as they now fit like a glove...or...like a shoe that just fits really well, I guess. I've had these for probably close to two years, have walked in them *so* much, and they're still in incredible shape. I anticipate getting at least two more years out of them as-is — they don't even seem close to needing to be resoled yet, but I definitely will do so when the time comes. They are definitely an investment, but considering I used to pay about half as much for boots that would poop out after one year, I consider them well worth it. I recommend going up a half size from what you usually wear for the perfect fit." —Rachel Dunkel

"I find both walking and jogging on the Treadly 2 Pro so easy and enjoyable. Having this treadmill is great, because I can exercise without having to go outside (I live in upstate NY where it's really cold outside) or move furniture around my apartment. It doesn't even matter that it "only" goes up to a jogging speed, I *still* feel sweaty after spending time on it.My fitness routine involves a mix of cardio, strength training, and flexibility workouts. I use the Treadly 2 Pro about three to four times a week, mostly for jogging and occasionally for walking. Jogging on the Treadly 2 Pro definitely gets my heart rate up: I have so much fun changing up the speed and also working on a steady pace. (See me on the left in full jogging mode.) After 35 to 40 minutes is up, I feel a little tired, but in a good way. I don't enjoy power walking, but the Treadly 2 Pro changed my perspective on it: When I don't feel like doing a heavy workout, it's so nice to de-stress with brisk movement. Plus, I can watch my favorite TV shows (like Bridgerton ) while I walk, walk, and walk some more." —Genevieve Scarano

"This oil is pretty thick, and that's why I like it. I have oily skin, so I only use it after I apply drying products. It's nonirritating and absorbs quickly. A single drop goes a long way, believe me. I would definitely repurchase this since I love using it with the night serum." —Christine Forbes
