16 "Ratatouille" Moments That I May Have Related To These Past Few Months

“Anyone can cook, but only the fearless can be great.” – Gusteau

If you've seen Ratatouille, you know how much of a chef Remy is. Without giving away any spoilers, I'll say I have thought of him every now and then when it comes to my cooking skills.

While I'm best friends with my food apps, over the past few months I may have ditched the quick ordering and started to cook and bake actual food that tasted great all from home.

    1. I decided it was time for me to conquer the kitchen and really hone in on my food skills.

    2. I quickly realized this required me to learn actual measurements, like how many tablespoons go for each desired recipe...

    3. Starting at the strike of 8 a.m., I woke up every day ready to conquer the kitchen.

    4. Each day became a personal mission to out-cook myself.

    5. And eventually, I decided to become a great food stylist.

    6. I decided to add a pinch of salt. And by a pinch, I mean:

    7. Coconut cream, coconut milk, and EVOO became my best friend.

    8. Food tutorials filled the majority of my screen time.

    9. I decided to really go in and freshen up on my chopping skills...

    10. ...and bought new dinnerware for those Instagram-worthy photos.

    11. All while remembering to wash my hands for 30 seconds to make sure I did my part in stopping the spread.

    12. I decided to get real brave and started adding every seasoning I could think of to each cooking dish.

    13. All while deciding to try eating as much food as I could cook, even if it didn't taste so great.

    14. I felt on top of the world and thought I was onto something once it started to smell real good in the kitchen.

    15. After all that cooking, I may have decided to tackle the biggest food challenge that was on everyone's news feed: sourdough bread.

    16. In the end, even if each recipe didn't end well, I at least did the best I could in challenging myself, given our new circumstance.

And that, my friends, is *Chef's Kiss.*
