Were you cooking or playing with fire? Here's how to fix that burned mistake:
Scrape out the charred remains of breakfast from your pan, and fill it with a cup of water so the bottom is completely covered.
Add the cream of tartar, and turn on low heat. Wait until it comes to a simmer for about 5-10 minutes, then turn off the heat and let it cool completely.
With a rough sponge, scrub at the scorched bits. They should come off way easier. Rinse and apply some more cream of tartar directly to the pan. Scrub in thoroughly. You should see any discoloration vanish, and the pan will become clean and shiny again. Don't forget the bottom!
