Cycling Testosterone Supplements

I mentioned this several times above. In my opinion, cycling is what separates the men from the boys when it comes to supplements for mass and muscle gain. Cycling is, simply put, switching between various different brands (and types) of supplements. Included in this cycle would be periods of no supplement at all. In the case of testosterone boosters, the usual recommendation is 4-6 weeks on and 4-6 off.Personally, I like to cycle 2-3 weeks and build in more cycles (for example 2 weeks on AlphaMax, 2 weeks on BattleFuel, and 4 or 5 weeks off, etc.).

The reason for cycling is two-fold:

1. Because switching up your supplement regimen prevents your body from adapting fully to any given supplement.

2. Specific to testosterone supplements, your body begins to produce a variety of offsetting hormones and nutrients to counterbalance the rise in testosterone. Cycling correctly can, in 9 cases out of 10, prevent any of those nasty side effects you're probably aware of.

For the most part, if used as directed and monitored by a doctor, you shouldn't see any drastic side effects. Side effects such as liver damage, raised cholesterol, and circulatory problems have been reported.

The most common problem actually comes from the increase in estrogen adn as you might expect, this includes breast development, shrinking up the boys, and even infertility.
