1. Preparing for recruitment during your freshman year:
What a time to be alive! You're so excited to find that perfect group of girls that you can call your ~sisters~.
Preparing for recruitment during your senior year:
Every freshman looks straight out of a Brandy Melville catalog, and you're just DGAFing in your sweatpants.
2. The first day of Rush as a freshman:
Everyone is cool. There's never a dull moment, even when you stand through minutes of awkward silence.
The first day of Rush as a senior:
You fear that your newly developed awkwardness will surface, and you'll have nothing to talk about with the youths.
3. Getting ready for Preference Day as a freshman:
You've made it this far, so why not enjoy the moment?
Getting ready for Preference Day as a senior:
Everyone is running on empty and your chief of recruitment starts a fight with your president because everyone is talking. Then everything goes to hell.
4. Sitting through the Preference ceremony as a freshman:
"IT'S ALL SO BEAUTIFUL AND THESE LADIES WILL BE MY SISTERS FOREVER!"
Sitting through the Preference ceremony as a senior:
You break down in tears halfway through the night, not because it's beautiful and you're excited, but because you just realized you're graduating and you'e old AF.
5. Watching people get their bids as a freshman:
It's total chaos. There's screaming, yelling, ugly crying, and happy crying. It feels like a damn war zone.
Watching people get their bids as a senior:
PNMs are sprinting to you like wild animals hysterically asking you what they did wrong, and all you can do is awkwardly console them. You then question everything.
6. The Bid Night party as a freshman:
Everyone is showering you with gifts and stuffing you with baked goods. You're so busy meeting new ~besties~ you lose track of time.
The Bid Night party as a senior:
As much as you love this night, when 10:00 rolls around, you will be dreaming of a glass of wine and your bed.
7. The day after Rush is over as a freshman:
You can't sleep or focus because you're just so excited about what just happened.
The Monday after Rush as a senior:
Your body has shut down due to complete exhaustion.
8. Going to chapter as a freshman:
There's nothing like that hour of catching up every week.
Going to chapter as a senior:
Meh, you can see them anytime.
9. Finding out chapter is formal as a freshman:
YES! An opportunity to wear your best clothes and look fabulous.
Finding out chapter is formal as a senior:
"Are sweatpants a total 'no' even if I wear a Greek shirt?"
10. Getting ready for initiation as a freshman:
"WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO TO ME?!"
Getting ready for initiation as a senior:
"DOES EVERYONE KNOW WHAT BAKED GOOD THEY'RE BRINGING?"
11. The idea of having a Big/Little as a freshman:
"SHE WILL BE THE BIG SISTER I NEVER HAD."
The idea of having a Big/Little as a senior:
"Already have one, and one child is enough, thanks!"
12. Pregaming formal as a freshman:
You've had two shots and feel kinda drunk. You're convinced you're going to get in trouble and fear what the upperclassmen will think of you.
Pregaming formal as a senior:
You are 21. You are untouchable.
13. What you do at formals as a freshman:
Grind city up in here.
What you do at formals as a senior:
"If there is not food, I am not going."
14. Prepping for your philanthropy as a freshman:
This is what the sisterhood was built for. *devotes 40 hours that week to planning and getting sponsors*
Prepping for your philanthropy as a senior:
As someone who's interning, taking a capstone, and having a senior year crisis, no, you don't have time to draw anchors on signs for 12 hours.
15. Saying good-bye to the seniors as a freshman:
"How will I fulfill their legacy?"
Saying good-bye to the seniors as a senior:
"Where did the time go?"
