Dami Im Will Represent Australia At The Eurovision Song Contest

Dami follows in the footsteps of former representative, Guy Sebastian.

On Thursday night, Dami Im was officially named Australia's next representative at the Eurovision song contest.

I just want to say, Sweden better watch out for us Aussies!

Dami is best known for winning The X Factor Australia in 2013.

People were quick to share their opinions on social media, with many excited about the news.

    But not everyone is convinced.

Guy Sebastian became the first Australian to officially compete in the song contest last year, placing fifth.

Back in 2014, Jessica Mauboy performed as an interval act during the show, but at the time, Australia was not allowed to compete.

Australia's participation is secured for this year, but it is yet to be decided whether Australia will become a permanent participant in the future.

Eurovision will be held in Stockholm, Sweden and will take place on the 10th, 12th and 14th of May.
