CAP Board - Campus Activities and Programming Board Just in case you forgot what CAP stands for! Exec - Executive Board The Exec Board consists of the president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, marketing chair and technology & social media chair. These members primarily work with logistics of CAP Board as a whole and not necessarily events like committees do. The main events that exec plans are the Haunted Mansion and Senior Week. Meet the 2014-2015 Exec Board! Directors - the one’s who plan the events The directors are the ones behind the nitty-gritty of CAP Board because they are the ones that physically plan and run the events you enjoy! There are 2 directors per committee and they each handle their own type of events. Meet the 2014-2015 directors! APs - Assistant Programmers APs are students who want to learn the ropes of CAP Board by helping the directors execute their events. Anyone can be an AP and it is a fun way to get to know the school and other student leaders! Committee - a group of people who plan a particular event CAP Board is divided into 4 committees: Special, On-stage, EPIC and Weekend. Each of these committees is responsible for planning a certain type of event (see below) and in their spare time they help others out with executing their events! Special - committee that plans novelty events Monday through Thursday Have you heard of Taco Thursday, the Harry Potter Party or the Zombie Run?! Well all of those events are run through Special! This committee plans pretty much anything that doesn't involve a stage or a trip. Special pushes their creativity to bring the campus new, inventive events each semester On Stage - committee that plans events having to do with a performer or stage Any comedian, magician or hypnotist that walks onto campus is most likely the work of On Stage. They are the main ones that handle our sound system and work closely with performers to bring Cabrini a show for the ages. They also host Open Mic Nights and give students the chance to show off their talent. Weekend - committee that plans events Friday through Sunday Pretty self explanatory right?! Weekend keeps you occupied every single weekend by planning something for the campus to do on Friday or Saturday. Trips, movie nights and in-house events all fall into Weekend's territory so you could call this duo a triple-threat! EPIC - committee that plans larger scale events The best way to define EPIC is that they're epic! They keep a low-profile in the fall because the only event they are planning is the Mr. & Ms. Cabrini Pageant in November, but that doesn't mean that it's something easy to do! Once that is over, their full focus goes into planning EPIC week in the spring which is a week full of bigger-than-normal events on campus. Squishy - CAP Board’s mascot If you've seen a pink and purple octopus wearing Ninja Turtle slippers at our events, that's Squishy! She was made with love at Build-A-Bear by the exec board and directors (see, we're already testing you on your CAP Board terminology ;) ) Spot her at an event? Take a picture of or with her and use the hashtag #squishysighting Snaps - Yay/congrats/thanks Snaps can mean pretty much anything with a positive connotation. It is a way of recognizing someone on CAP Board because they've done something awesome. Don't forget to check out the snaps board in our office! NACA - National Association for Campus Activities NACA is the conference that the executive board and directors attend every year. This is where we plan our spring calendar, meet prospective performers and get new ideas for events. We are also the 2013 NACA MAT (Mid-Atlantic) Outstanding Delegation of the Year aka we're the best in the region Cav Sound - CAP Board’s sound system There is not really any other way to describe Cav Sound than it being our primary system for events that need microphones. Mini Cav Sound - CAP Board’s mini sound system You guessed it, Mini Cav Sound is a smaller version of Cav Sound! It is two smaller speakers that we mainly use to play music throughout an event. Poppy Have you ever seen us put everything we need for an event into a black box on wheels? That's the poppy. It makes setting up for events a lot smoother than if we had to carry everything by hand and the rule is that you have to unpack the poppy one business day after your event.
