BuzzFeed Names Katie Sitter As New Senior Vice President, People

    Experienced HR Executive Joins from Activision Blizzard

    New York, NY – September 19 – BuzzFeed, the world’s leading tech-powered media company, today announced that it has appointed Katie Sitter as its new Senior Vice President, People, effective September 30. Sitter will manage strategic programs to support the company’s continued business transformation, growth strategy, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Sitter will be based in BuzzFeed’s Los Angeles office and will report to Chief Financial and Administrative Officer Eric Muhlheim.

    As BuzzFeed’s Senior Vice President, People, Sitter will manage a diverse People Team whose members work across the organization, and oversee all strategic initiatives related to organizational planning, talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, labor relations, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

    Sitter brings more than 15 years of HR experience to BuzzFeed. She joins BuzzFeed from interactive entertainment company Activision Blizzard, where as VP of Human Resources she developed talent strategies and advised stakeholders on the impact of talent-related strategic business initiatives and organizational changes. During her tenure at Activision Blizzard, she served a variety of groups including the corporate leadership teams and Activision Publishing’s Global Sales & Supply Chain, Marketing and Finance teams. Prior to joining Activision Blizzard, Sitter spent over 10 years at Deloitte serving in multiple HR-related roles.

    Sitter started her career within Financial Planning & Analysis in the entertainment industry, previously working for Paramount and Sony Pictures. She holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Trinity College in Connecticut.
