The Republican National Committee has placed modest television buys in Washington D.C.; Charlotte, North Carolina; Norfolk, Virginia; and Grand Rapids, Michigan for next week, a total buy of just over $20,000 that marks an early shot in a broadening advertising war.
RNC spokesman Sean Spicer wouldn’t confirm the numbers, shared by a media buyer, or discuss the planned ad. The Obama campaign today also released their first ad, which is below:
- The death toll has risen to 36 in the Oakland warehouse party fire. Officials say they are no where close to finding a cause for the fire.
- Donald Trump has picked retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson to be his secretary of housing and urban development.
- Jill Stein has filed a federal lawsuit in Pennsylvania for statewide recount of the 2016 election, after she withdrew a request in state court.
