Big in Internet: The Dark Art and Weird Science of the Share Economy
Franchesca Ramsey is an actress, comedian and video blogger based out of New York City. With over 80k subscribers on her two YouTube channels, she and her videos have been featured on MTV, The New York Times, Essence.com and The BBC. Her recent viral hit "Sh*t White Girls Say...to Black Girls" was viewed over 5 million times in just 5 days, garnering coverage on MSNBC, ABC, Ebony Magazine, The Daily Mail and the Anderson Cooper talk show to name a few.
Barry Pousman is formerly the Executive Producer at Rocketboom, an award winning video blog focused on Internet news and culture. Barry earned his B.A. in visual media with a concentration in documentary filmmaking from Emerson College in Boston. After college, he went on to serve with the U.S. Peace Corps in Senegal where he founded an organization devoted to video and development in West Africa. Since living in New York, he has worked at Rocketboom as director, producer and eventually executive producer where he developed and consulted on two new web series for PBS.org, created original content for Vitamin Water at the Cannes Film Festival and directed sponsored content for Intel.
Matt Stopera got his start dancing in his bedroom on an MTV show about obsessed Britney Spears fans called FANography. Several years and Britney breakdowns later, Matt got a job at BuzzFeed as an editor and has been working there since 2008 creating posts specifically targeted for Facebook. Four years and hundreds of millions of views later, Matt's content has become a fixture on the internet, with posts like: The 45 Most Powerful Images Of 2011, 48 Pictures That Perfectly Capture The 90's, and the 25 Hottest Photos of Ryan Gosling's beard. Businessweek has suggested that Matt is someone who has "cracked the code" with regards to viral content. In recent months, Matt has done everything from inventing a meme (horsemanning), orchestrating a People Magazine protest in support of Ryan Gosling, traveling across Iowa to cover the caucuses, and going undercover as a juggalo at the 2011 Gathering Of The Juggalos... something he will almost definitely never do again.
Lindsey Weber cares about the Internet more than most people do. She started off as the Community Manager for AOL's now-departed web darling, Urlesque.com, while also blogging for sites including a newly-launched BuzzFeed. After that, she headed over tot he Universal Record Database, now RecordSetter, where she co-wrote the RecordSetter Book of World Records. The 352-page book was released in November of 2011 and featured the world's most amazing, most unique and most insane human achievements. Joining creative agency The Barbarian Group in 2011 to work with their Earned Media team, she worked on digital campaigns for GE, Samsung and The Daily. Now as the Senior Creative Strategist back at BuzzFeed, she's continuing to help brands to make cool stuff for the web. She also created web famo blogs We Have Lasers!!!!!!!!! (devoted to celebrating the school portrait laser background), Tom Hanks Wax Museum, SpotiFYI and most recently: the NYT-featured Twitter parody @WeBoughtaZ00.

Alex Pasternack is the editor of Motherboard, the Vice tech website, where he also produces videos and short documentaries. He is also the co-founder of Weeels, a startup devoted to social transit in urban vehicles. He has worked in China and lived in the Internet for as long as he can remember.
Sam Biddle is a Staff Writer for Gizmodo, where he covers everything from iPads and Facebook to porn and nuclear bombs. He previously wrote for The Awl on the prospects of America's young and unemployed, and is now turning the series into a book. Sam has appeared as a host and pundit across CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, Spike, and NPR, among others.
Michael Marantz is a self-described social media content producer working with many agencies and brands including Michelin, Sony, The United Way, and even the band Phish.
