Why Buckyballs Are Better Than Pet Rocks

BuckyBalls: they are mind-blowing, they are inspiring, they keep me awake at night thinking of new patterns. These addicting magnets will keep you entertained for hours. Pet Rocks...not so much.

The Pet Rock instruction manual runs contrary to EVERYTHING you ever knew about rocks. You probably don't know ANYTHING about Buckyballs so there won't be any unpleasant surprises.
Pet rocks don't move. Buckyballs have a mind of their own.
You can't wear Pet Rocks. Buckyballs, however, are a great fashion accessory and the perfect compliment to any outfit.
Buckyballs come in four editions: gold, silver, black and original. You don't get much variety in Pet Rocks aside from the amount of space they take up on your desk.
The creators of Buckyballs were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1996 after discovering them in 1985. Gary Dahl, the creator of Pet Rocks has never won an award.
Anyone can make their own Pet Rock, but Buckyballs can only be made by a method that involves transmitting a large current between two graphite electrodes in an inert atmosphere.
