Friedman Place is a non-profit supportive living community for blind and visually impaired adults in Chicago. Everything in the building, from the hallway lighting to the guide dog exercise area, is specially designed to suit the needs of the visually impaired.

The Cumberland Trail is an ambitious trail-building project in East Tennessee that, at completion, will extend more than 300 miles. The scenic footpath connects two national parks and offers hikers waterfalls, landscapes, gorges, wildlife, and varying flora.

Rebuilding Macon is the largest, non-profit organization in Middle Georgia providing repairs to low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly and disabled. They complete around 250 project houses annually, addressing home issues such as safety, comfort, health, energy efficiency, and independence.

The Urban Ecology Center in Milwaukee fosters ecological understanding in the community. The center provides outdoor science education for urban youth, preserves and enhances natural areas, promotes community, and practices and models environmentally responsible behaviors.

The Portland Police Bureau Sunshine Division has been providing food and clothing relief to Portland, Oregon families and individuals in need for 94 years. They offer 24 hour food assistance with food boxes at each police precinct to be dispatched at any time.
