The Moscow Spring A Cappella Festival Guests Will Enjoy Live Performances By 160 Singers And Bands From All Over The World
This spring, the entire Moscow sings! For the first time ever, the Moscow Spring A Cappella International Open Music Competition takes place in Russia’s capital from April 28 to May 7, 2017 as a part of the Moscow Seasons street events.
More than 160 contestants – solo performers and vocal groups from Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, Latvia, Georgia and Singapore –sing for Moscow residents and visitors at 38 street concert venues across city. The concert venues include Moscow’s streets and squares, malls, train stations, and even rooftops and balconies.
From opera to folk, from jazz to beatboxing, from rock to traditional church music – all styles and genres will be presented at the competition.
The total prize fund of the Moscow Spring A Cappella Competition is $280,000
There are three competition categories:
- minor vocal groups (up to five people);
- medium vocal groups (six people or more);
- large groups and choirs (11 people or more).
The first prize in each of the categories is $30,000.
Second place wins $20,000, and third, $10,000.
The overall ‘Grand Prix’ winner receives $100,000 regardless of category.
The results of the competition will be announced on May 8th.
